I would be very reluctant to think its my timing or compression, as its my pride and joy (Engine) Trust me i check it religiously. and there has been no issue since i place the engine in the bay. Its got to be something i unplug or something when i dropped the transmission.


i did serve 2 tours in iraq and 1 in afghanistan.

No do not reuse the HG it is toast on #3 exhaust side, the black burnt area. Do not go back with a MLS HG, get a Fel_pro or OE composite. I see a couple things that concern me on the block deck.
Wipe the bores down with oil and cover with a plastic bag to help prevent rust.
Get a good pic of #3 bore on the exhaust side, the gasket surface. also get a Pic of the HG side of the head.
