security code for the radio [Merged 11-6]

My battery went dead and the factory radio lost its code. The local dealer wants $ to give out the code. Does anybody know a dealer that will look up the code for me over the phone? It's for a 2g, by the way.

I know how to input the code and where to find the serial number, I just need the name of a good dealer. Anybody got a favorite?

Vendor feedback and other endlessly run-on drivel about god only knows what deleted.

Does anyone know the unlock code for the stock radio, i changed batties and i cant use my radio. thanks

Do you have your owners manual still? My old car had it listed in there but I dont remember it off the top of my head.

if you do lose your manual, you can always call up a mitsu dealer with your VIN and they can give it to you

I'm looking for someone who is willing to help me out.
I just pickeud up my car yesterday after having it shipped to Europe and the battery crapped out on me, didn't do anything at all. I got a new one from a shop there but my headunit wants me to enter the code and I don't have it.

So now I'm looking for someone who is willing to call that "help"-line for me and get that code. VIN is 4A3AK54F7WE094848.
Anyone wanting to help me out ? Would really appreciate it.

Did you try contacting the person you bought the car from, since they were probably the one that set it.

Call your nearest mitsubishi dealership. Provide them with your VIN number or the numbers (not sure which row) written on top of the stereo unit itself.

Once you get the code, use numbers 1-4 to apply the code and the tape button for Enter.

Hey guys I seem to have a problem on my hands, and before I get reamed for starting a thread on something thats been covered a billion times, I have scoured the site to come up empty. I have a 95 tsi, stock radio died, I took it out and trashed it, purchased a replacement on ebay..hooked it up asked for code...no code, contact the seller, no luck...now my question is without the VIN number (since the seller was a parts store not a private party) can I find the code thru the dealer with just the serial number...has anyone done this and if so what dealership...or am I SOL and have to buy a new radio??? thanks in advance gents

same here. they just asked for the serial number from the radio.

by chance just in case my local dealers give me a hard time...what dealerships did u guys call?

Ok, so i replaced my battery in my car, everything fine, then went to turn the radio on, and it asks for a code, i read everything i could and coulnt find anything or the code, and i dont have the original card its supposedly on, so is there any other way to unlock it? or anywhere else the number would be? anything will help, thanks. its the stock radio with 6 disc, tape, and equalizer, just FYI

I have a 98gsx but I've locked it before. To get the code you're going to have to go to the dealership with the serial number that is somewhere on the radio.

Also if you try too many times it will lock itself. To unlock it there are various procedures. I think putting the key in the ignition turned to on and maybe powering on the radio for 40 minutes reset it. Still have to enter the code after that though.

There are threads about this topic already also. Too lazy to search at the moment but they will basically reiterate what I said above.
