I know you don't want to hear "Buy a new one" but for $100 you could get a great head unit that's better than the stock mitsu one. Aside from that, you might be able to email a dealership with your problem and they might be able to steer you in the right direction

Thanks for the advice, guess I will have to star thinking about that if I dont find the code.
But I will not give up that fast.

the problem with the stock radio is that when they lose power (like the battery being disconnected) they are shut down by default and you have to input the the 4 digit code (anti theft feature). Now what you have to do is to remove the radio from the dash and retrieve the serial number on the radio itself. Once you have the serial number you can call any mitsubishi dealership and tell them that you need the radio code and yatayata. Also each radio has a unique code that's why you need to give them the serial number. This happened to me a while back and I held on to that 4 digit code.

My 4 digit code is 2940. You can try that but I doubt it will work. Worth a shot though.

Ok. . . here's what you do- take your unit out, and I believe on the backside somewhere there will be a couple of numbers. There should be a Model # and I believe a serial #. Give both of those to a mitsu. dealer and they should be able to look the code up in their systems. Just shy of that- you'd need a new unit.

Good luck

if you had alot of time one you hands there is only 9999 possible codes you could just start typing them in and hope for the best LOL. just do 1000 or so each day or something idk......good luck bro

Oh, just a side-note. If you enter 3 incorrect codes, the unit will lock itself in an 'oFF' state. To clear this code, you need to turn your key to the ACC position and then turn the radio on so you can see the 'oFF' in the display. After that . . . wait about an hour or so (might be longer), and dont touch anything.

I bought a used gst and just got my alarm done now i gotta put in the code for the stock radio but the dealership never gave it to me Is there any way to get it without goin to the dealership

Pull trim panel off around radio, should be able to see a sticker on left side. It has the serial number on it. Write it down. If you can't see sticker pull radio out and then copy number. Call dealer give them number they give you code. If they won't help PM me with serial number and I'll get it next week.:thumb:

dude...the shop might be responsible to your if you cannot get the code again...in my shop we had this little thing that on one end plugged into the cigarette lighter and on the other end it had a 9volt battery on it. You put a battery on it and it gives the car enough juice to keep the code i know cuz we had to buy a guy a friggin radio cuz his dumb@$$ lost his own code...and we were responsible because he would not have needed that code if we did it right...my 2 cents!
which relates to interceptor...
Good luck on the other hand....

Here is what you need to do. Get the serial number off the top of the radio, should be on a sticker. Call this number 954-283-1000 and ask for the service department. They will need the serial number from that sticker. The phone # is to a dealer in Florida and I live in Ohio. I called them and asked for the code but they were closing for the day and said they would get it to me the next day. Sure enough they did. If you have tried more than 3 codes and locked the radio leave the key to the on position for 45 minutes and then press the power button and if should read "code". You can then put the code in by using the numbers on the radio. Press the #1 key until you get to the first number in the code. For example if its 3 press the #1 key three times. Do this for all of them using the #1 key for the first #2 key for the second and so on. If you have any more questions about this PM me. Its not as hard as it sounds.

Snake if you need me to get the code for you, just pm me the serial number and I will call Monday in the morning.

If you enter the code 3 times incorrectly, you have to wait an hour untill the code can be entered again. I had to help somebody with this before and wrote them all the details in an email. Just PM me if you need help with it or getting the code. They give you the codes here free.

hey, mano yo tambien soy de Puerto Rico y tengo el mismo problema, me pusieron un contacto nuevo en la bateria y ahora me sale lo de code. Si consigues como sacar el codigo me avisas, tienes mecanico?

-I have the same problem too :(

i recently had the battery out of my car putting in a new clutch and turbo does anybody know the code so i can get the stock radio to work again? i had it wrote down but cant find it

You need to contact your local dealership and they can actually get you the number. They will have to pull your radio and contact mitsubishi about the serial number on the back of the radio and then mitsu will give them the code.

Or, just pop the trim ring off from around the radio, and on some units you can see the serial number right there on the top of it without even having to pull the radio out. Call up a dealership and be really nice, and they'll probably give you the code over the phone. DO NOT pay any money for them to do this-- if they try to charge you, hang up and call somewhere else. One good place many people have had good luck with is Coconut Creek Mitsubishi here in south Florida. I've heard of guys calling there from all over the country and getting radio codes, me included.

yea DONT PAY for it from the dealer.. this happened to me.. i just had some stuff donethere at the dealer. i think it was 60k maintenance.. and when i turned on the radio it was asking for the code.. i just asked and they gladly got it for me..

MAKE SURE TO WRITE IT DOWN.. for future reference :)

Hey everyone, a rumor has been floating around that stock 2g radio codes work for cars of the same year & model.

Ex: A stereo code for a 97 GS-T will work for another 97 GS-T.

So, can we all post our codes here with our year and model numbers and just check if this works?

Also, special request, can someone please post a 97 GS-T radio code? :)

Never hurts to try :) Let's see if we can figure something out.

Anyone have the code for the stock radio/cd for a 97 Eclipse GS? Im putting all my stock stuff back in, and I need the code to get the radio to work again. If anyone has it, or knows where I can get it, Id really apprecaite it. If not, Ill just call my mitsu dealer tomorrow (I just need to get everything done tonight). Thanks -Nick
