Get the serial # off the radio and call your local mitsu service dept.

hey everyone,
I had to reset my battery today and after about an hour of sitting i recoonected it. i cannot listen to the radio because i need the code to unlock it. Does anyone know how to get the code to unlock the radio? I have no owners manual and i am not going to dish out $60 to have the dealer pull my radio. Is there ANY place at all that has the code written on it? has this ever happened to anyone else? I have a 95 GST with infinity sound. ANY info would help.
thanks

call a different dealer. keep calling different ones until one of them (with the vin number and possibly the serial number on the radio) will just give you the code.

i think the erason they want 60 bucks is to pull the radio and get the serial number on there, which 60 bucks is rediculous. if you haven't already, pull of all the trim around it and find the number yourself. if you don't know how to do that, thats a different problem and post that so we can tell you.

there will be a dealer who will do it. many have done it before, just keep calling.

GOT IT
thanks everyone,
if anyone caresss,,,,
i want to thank ROB at service in the max madsen in countryside!!!!
thanks

they told me they just needed vin off the top of the stereo so thats what i gave them

I had my bettery disconnected and had to enter the code for the radio. I couldn't find it, and ended up guessing wrong too many times and now it's locked. I found the code now, but I can't enter it. I tried disconnecting the battery overnight, but that didn't work. Does anyone know how to reset the radio so it will accept the code?

Actually all you do, is turn your ignition to the run, or on position, let it sit, and in a hour it will let you re-inter your code.

I just got my car back from the collision shop for a paint job. And the guy from the collision shop took the battery's cable out couple of times to disable the alarm. So now my factory radio and CD dont work, it only says CODE on it. I am wondering where I would get that code from??? Thanks for any help.

You need the serial number from your radio. If you take the plastic piece around the radio out, it should be on top of the radio. Get the number, call your Mitsu dealer and they'll give you the 4 digit code. Do NOT try to enter the code without knowing it first, if you enter it wrong more than 3 times, you'll have to take it to the dealership.

Actually, you just have to wait until it says "code" again, atleast from my personal experience.

I've never entered it more the 3 times so I never had that problem, that's just what I heard from the guy I bought the car from.

Yea, just get the serial number and take it to the dealer...theyll give u the code. Happened to me a while back. :thumb:

Enter the code using the radio station programming buttons, then press the am/fm or cd button.

depending on the dealership, they may just give you the code over the phone for free.

when I called one, they wanted to set me up for an appointment to bring it in, and charge me $60 labor to pull the radio out to get the SN

I just went over the dealer today and I took the serial # and all what he did, he entered the serial # and it gave him the code. and he told me that the code can never be changed to any personal code. I entered the code and then pressed the CD botton. and it worked. Thanks for all

how much did you have to pay for the service that took them less than a minute? :barf:
