Short story.. after oil squirters falling out and getting some low pressure i fixed the issue... have great pressure but now there is low idle knocking.

Im on the search for a new block and crank so I can have a spare short block.

To my question..

This is most likely a main bearing issue. I have great oil pressure now. Would you tear the whole motor down and get things to the machine shop or just replace the bearings and call it good?

When I was in the bottom end fixing the squirters there was no play that i could tell but obviously the low pressure did enough.

There is bearing material in the pan. How did the machine shop see no bearing damage? Do they have eyes?
2 squirters were eaten up... not sure that its not chewed up pieces of those.

they didnt see any bearing issues. We were looking to make sure rods were still good.
How is that possible? You had 2 oil jets ports on oil main gallery wide open without check valves and had already been making knocking sound. Did they physically measure? If the knocking sounds were occurring at rod big end, usually at least you would need to recondition the rods.

I havent been there to go in depth with but they said bearings looked ok. Did seem odd to me. Ill make sure I get numbers as theu go through the machine work

Or I may just get new rods anyway since I already got new pistons

Did you "friend" also attach the oil pan? That's WAY too much RTV.
You can tell it's a Colorado engine, look at all that gold in the pan :(
