OK...so Im gonna lay the whole deal out there and see who can help. I bought a 96 Talon with 143k on it. Guy I bought it from said it was just rebuilt with under 300 miles on the rebuild and it was rebuilt with forged internals. At the same time a true Evo3 16g turbo was added and a Blitz Atmospheric BOV. He put a GM MAF in...but no translator. I drove the car for about 30 miles...and it developed a knock. It came on quickly and I parked it. Im pretty good with cars and tools so I am gonna tackle the job my self. Heres what I am wondering.....Is there anything else is could be besides a rod bearing? The garage im working at is 15 mins from my house and I have no car...so I kinda wanna know all options before I start to get into it. I didnt have a oil psi drop...in fact right before the knockin...my oil psi went up. Started at like 13psi to 20 psi...now its 20 to 40. Also...if it is the rod bearing...does anyone have pics they could put into paint really quick and circle and kinda give me step by step of what I am looking for and what I am doing....I appreciate all the help.

first off, once you pull the engine andremove the rod caps, you will see what bearing spun. they shouls look smooth and shiney. the one that spun will be rough and discolored. you are going to have to at least get the crank cut if it is not too bad, and worse case you may need to get another crank. also, if it spun bad, it may have messed the rod up on that cylinder also. so you may have to get that one cut also. you are going to have to rebuild the whole lower end, and i suggest redoing the head also, cause i am sure that it has metal shaving in it too.
one other thing is you are going to have to get your turbo inspected/rebuilt. it has little oil gallies inside, and when you spin a rod bearing, all that metal gets in there and tears it up. i have learned the hard way and just through the turbo back on after a rebuild, and soon after the turbo gave out, and destroyed it beyond the cost of rebuild
