2G 4g64 rod knock

I have a base model eclipse and I guess it has an engine swap and it started making a very loud knocking noise on the timing side of the engine, does anyone know the exact problem?

There is no way for us to evaluate based on what you're saying. Your car should also not be 4g64. Please elaborate.

It’s a 2.4l and there is a very loud knock on the side that the timing is on and idk what is causing the sound

Convertible came with 4g64.
