Does it matter if an ecu is ca or fed emissions if you are going to have a custom chip burnt anyway?

No. Just make sure that you either change the config resistors or force the correct setting in the software.

Like Steve said - use the software to correct the setting. I've got a CA emissions car with all the emissions still hooked up. Got my Stage III chip from Jeff at DSMChips & an EPROM ECU from him as well. I just told him what I had & he set up the chip accordingly. I haven't had any problems with emissions CEL's. :thumb:
