General EPROM tuning question

I already bought a 95 ecu, I just havent put it in yet.
You need a socketed EPROM ECU for one thing but you also may have to do something to your CAS and maybe the firing order

I found this old post from Ceddy on eprom ecu tuning and everything seemed pretty straight forward but he provided an image from a 95 gsx and I have a 97 gst. Will I need an image from a 97 gst in order to tune or will the 95 awd image work?

The stock EPROM image is EB23C.bin, that's where you would start for a 95-96 EPROM but it's hard to locate. I haven't been able to find it yet the people that have it usually don't just pass it out.

Nothing special about EB23C other than it belongs to Mitsubishi. It's only useful in a Mitsubishi ECU so it's likely safe to provide the bits here as a backup.

Thanks for the eb23c image. It's been 5 years looking to get my eprom working. I have tried to get tunerpro rt going with the ostrich yesterday when you gave me the bin I can't get it yet. I guess I need the xdf file and a adx file also all this stuff is new to me with a computer. Any info would help thanks

Yes, you need to put together an XDF (for tuning) and ADX file (for logging) if you want to use TunerPro. You also need to read every Ceddy post you can find where he discusses his early work on 2G ECUs. He didn't publish much before he switched to the blackbox ECUs so he could leverage the EVO work being done.

Most 2g people quickly realize that the time they put into reverse engineering the factory 2g code starts to make DSMLink look real cheap and make the switch to they can tune rather than disassemble code.

Speaking as sumone with a chipped ecu. I wish I had just gone with dsmlink.
Fast forward to 2020 + only place ive seen people use ecu chips. Is Honda folks.

Dsm wise, recently there was an eprom burner being sold sumwhere. Again tho I'd like to talk you out of burning eprom chips

Thanks dsmlink is in my future but I have been reading about dsmlink alot trying to see if It would be easy enough for me to use this whole emulator thing is pretty complex. I already have a 03 Blackbox ecu and a tactrix 2.0 cable I thought about changing to that with evoscan but I thought I would give ostrich and tunerpro rt a try once more befor I just gave up. Evoscan seems almost as complicated

I'm a old-school dsm guy I remember when dsm back when you would go to dsm shootouts and either you had a chip a safc and a palm logger or you had aem I miss those days

Theres always remote tuners out there. Ive made enough mistakes and blew turbos, bent valves. Id rather not tune myself and learn another lesson , then have to build/ rebuild a motor cause I tried to save a few bucks.

Jeesh the old days with an safc. Only the og's know what the hell that is.

I meant to say I remember when dsmlink came out

Could you point me in the direction of a remote tuner I would much rather go that route ive heard of it but don't know anyone who does it .

I miss the dsm meetup in Montgomery AL at the quarter mile that's where it all started for me
