Quick dumb question, screw on throttle body?

So I finally did my BLT and found a few leaks.. I'm working on patching all of them up but I wanted to ask first, what this screw is on the throttle body?? It's actually leaking pretty badly from around the screw head

That is your base idle set screw it has an oring on it and is a common leak point.

Biss screw, the oring is probably leaking time to replace it. I used a drillbit to take it out.

Sumbitch.. Probably just match the o-ring up to one from AutoZone and I'll be OK right?

usually you trash the screw trying to get it out. its a cheap part. A few bucks for the new screw and oring

That is the metal version of the screw, it should come right out with a #3 phillips head. You will also need a piece of tape to pull the screw from the bore.

Yep cheap part oring too easy fix.

Make sure you set it right by grounding the diagnostic pin at the ecu to set the idle otherwise your ISC will be out of adjustment range.

Thanks for the replies everyone, upon further research it seems my shaft seals are bad too.. Time for a TB rebuild.. Already know that's a project beyond my expertise, any idea how much Steve at throttlebodys . com charges?

The last I saw from throtle body's .com was around 150$..Snowborder714 will rebuild your TB and bead blast it, but I don't know how much he charges..

Hey for you guys hanging around this thread can you buy a new biss screw at a local auto parts store and O ring?

Hmm, well I would definitely rather do it myself if I can, way cheaper and a good learning experience.. I've gone through almost every vendor on the vendor page and can't find it; does anyone sell a TB rebuild kit, or do I just piece it together?

Just piece it together all you need is mil spec shaft seals BISS screw and print and you could even bypass your FAIV if u wanted too

Make sure you search on here for the throttle plate screw specs. They have a tendency to strip.
