Questions for Justin...

I'll remeasure tonight but those are what I got. That would be a pretty big difference to miss. Possible it could be an odd ball?

Guys where i can find a restrictor for a Holset?? Can't seem to find any. The closest one i found was .060 but don't know if it work. Also Justin do you still sell the 90 degrees fittings that goes in the ofh?

Extreme psi has an oil feed kit for the holset with a 90* and -4 AN you dont need a restrictor as long as your drain is sufficient. Have you checked your oil pressure?

On a seperate note justin, why do you think fp offers these 84mm flow advancement covers for the 35 and 37r when wouldnt that choke the hell out of it? I know it says for space constraints but I'd imagine it couldnt be that bad if the black uses it. Would be sneaky having a 3586 with a black comp cover.

Stock appearing class? Lol

Buy a smaller one and drill it out to whatever size you need....simple. :D

Be sure to check oil pressure before adding any restriction- you can starve the turbo pretty easily if you're not careful. Restrictors work perfect for some but are absolutely not mandatory.

Not any longer, sorry. The small amount that remain are being kept for personal consumption.

A FP Black is a MHI-based turbo. You can't use a MHI cover on a Garrett turbo.

I'm not sure what they're talking about otherwise.

They offer the 84mm flow advancement port cover for the 3586. The same COMPRESSOR cover as the black. Well visually the same.

Look at the pictures and the compressor housing option

I understand what you're saying...but who knows what it REALLY looks like- if you look at the tag on the turbo in the photo, it says "STi Red"...so that's a MHI-based turbo.

Interesring. Alright. Well even so. The 4" would be more serge protected correct?

The covers with FP cast in to them are for Mhi turbos. There Garret's have a standard gtx cover based of the pictures. The link looks to accidentally have Mhi cover slipped in with the photos of a garret turbo. They don't attach to the chra in the same way.

And to the guy asking about where to get restrictirs, you can just drill a set screw to what ever size you need and thread it into the feed fitting. As some loctite for good measure. That's a 25 cent oil restricter.

Guys is there any difference in flow on the FP 8cm turbine housing over the old school 8cm?

I just installed a jb black with fp feed line. This port off the ofh will work fine correct? The line running that close to the turbo and exhaust wont affect it? I'm still using the stock drain also is that good enough? thanks

Can't tell in the photos, but as long as it's threaded into the top (angled) port you should be receiving clean oil.

Nope- especially with the silicone sleeve FP has on the line.

As long as the flanges line up and it doesn't leak, you're good to go.

Thanks. Yes its the port that screws in like sideways. To clock this turbo I can just remove the snap ring and turn it right? There isnt an alignment tab I have to remove is there?

I was wondering what its capabilities would be Comparable to for like mhi turbos. My dad just bought a speed 6 and I cant find info on it so I thought I'd ask.

There are different compressors found on K04's...the Speed 6 wheel being one of the largest at 45mm/56mm, or about the size of a 14B. Not a very big turbo for a 2.3 engine.

In terms of DSM performance, it would be similar to choosing a 14B for your stroker build...so look to upgrade if you're going to do much in the way of mods to the car.
