Punishment Racing vs. Straigt Line Specialties...

I got my PR T3 manifold last week from Extreme Psi very fast after placing the order with Hung and it is a piece of art :thumb: . I'm waiting for the 86HTA turbo from FP ... I can't wait to install the new setup and do the tuning :sneaky: ... I have NOT seen the SLS manifold so I can NOT give any comment on it but I'm sure you be staicfay with ethier of them.

Straight up, Punishment Racing and Straight Line Specialties are both very good, but I'd go with Straight Line Specialties. They have been fabricating much longer and they offer a divided manifold too which would definitely be better if your turbo is a divided turbo.

Call the guys at SLS, I was just in the same situation as you and I'm glad I went with SLS, It only took about four days for my manifold to come in, I believe they still have a couple in stock oh and did I mention I got it about $150 cheaper then Punishments + free shipping and life time warranty you cant beat that, email them you wont regret it.

its funny you said that... i got my 86hta 2 months ago for this upcoming season, thats wha im buying the manifold for. I cant wait to put it on the car, its been killing me looking at it in my garage for so long... :thumb:

I am in the same boat as chris. Im getting the 3582hta and looking for a T3 manifold and not sure which to get out of these . I asked punishment if there was a difference and he said this."They are not the same exact manifold but they appear to be similar in design and construction. We generally don't compare our products to our competitors or get into the whole "our parts are better than their parts" thing. We let the quality of our parts and our reputation for customer service speak for themselves." You can get punishment for $ 790. SLS one for $675 (SLS Turbo Manifold 95-99 Eclipse/Talon 4G63 - SLS - Turbo Manifolds - Exhaust - 89-99 Eclipse Turbo 4G63 - Mitsubishi - CI Motorsports) SLS for $845. And they have one on ebay for $650(eBay Motors: SLS DSM/Eclipse/Talon Turbo Manifold T3/44 (item 220350068413 end time Jan-28-09 17:52:14 PST))

This is from a guy on dsmlink forums:

"I run an SLS manifold. The quality is great, I love the manifold. But their customer service is the 2nd worst I've ever had to deal with (worst being Taboo). It also comes with a lifetime warrantee, but I wouldn't count on that as their customer service sucks, and their shop is closed with a For Lease sign out front.

I highly recommend to stay far away from them. They are about 3 hours from me, and used to sponsor our local forum. Here's how they treated me.

I have been in a similar situation similar to this before. Personally, I would not do business with people like this. Customer service is just as important to me as the products themselves. I personally, have had great experience with Punishment-Racing and the products they sell are top quality. I don't have any experience with SLS personally, but from reading through your post on the Mitsustyle.com forums, I don't think they will be getting any business from me anytime soon.

i give SLS a :thumb: i ordered parts from them about 2 weeks ago and had the parts about 5 days later at my house.
