Over torqued

What exactly are we looking for in these pics?
Also, did the assembly even rotate by hand when you got it?

Pistons are trashed, not even sure if they are wiseco hds
Yeah, those don't look ike Wiseco HDs. If they're Wisecos, there will be Wiseco part number on the face of each one. Also, what's 'trashed' about the pistons?

Man, i read through every page, my hopes getting higher and higher for this build, and then come to find out he bailed on the build, and majorly F'd over a fellow tuner?

Just plain sad.

The rod was put in a vise it looks like. The rod were over torqued causing the cap to distort. The piston looks like it was hit with something. Nice...... Well one thing he didn't half ass was the block. It was 100 percent rigged up.

Well they are wiseco there is a part number on the wrist pin, w8-E22b. Can anyone confirm this? I have been reading through the thread can't find where he bought them.

What do you know about the block?

Thanks Ed. Hope everything is going good for ya up in North Jersey. I will def bring the car up your way when it's done.

Yeah anyone that thinks you have to be a master to build a nice car Ed will tell you not long ago at all my first talon was at his house because I didn't want to risk doing certain things back when I first got into dsm's because I wasn't familiar with the platform enough. Now the only stuff I really need help with is machine work and welding.

Small update. I actually got the COP and the pistons a couple days ago but my internet was down but anyway now you can see how close I am to finally getting this motor done and in.

The pin won't verify the piston. It could very well be a heavy wall HD pin with some other piston...

It doesn't look like a forged piston in that picture that you posted.

well i found this part of the thread, i just have to find a way to read that part number off the spec sheet. any way I will have to replace one of them. So they will be sent to wiseco for answers. If they are not usable, them a new set will be replaced. No wories. If any one can read that part # I would be willing to reward them.

Im just trying to make the best of this and keep this build moving forward.

I don't know anything about it. I can just tell by the pictures. Looks like Hell. I'm sorry man.

Lol yeah it is. It will be fine. sending the rods back to r&r to get looked at, all boxed up and ready. Got a part # for the pistons.

What part number did you come up with on the pistons? The box says "ASC-01329", which isn't a part number. It also says -10cc dish on the box, which falls inline with a regular Wiseco piston, not the HD. Like I said before, if it's really a Wiseco piston, then the part number will be laser etched in the dish of the piston. example

I saw this on fb and about shit! I couldn't figure out how someone could assemble a motor that bad....

That really blows and best of luck getting it resolved.

Lol dude its ok, I just emailed wiseco, and will be sending them to them. If these are not what they are suposed to be I will purchase what Im suposed to have. Its not a debate, just trying to salvage what I can. If they are hds then great, if not then I will get HDs. No sweat. ;)

Yeah, its worse in person. I am trying to stay positive about it. Which is very hard. I have a great attorney, so she will handle the stress, thats what I pay her for. In the meantime just want to stay on task and get my car done. Stuff happens.

Do regular wiseco come with 22mm wristpins?

Have you contacted Sean to inquire about a refund? Seems like it would be easier and cheaper than getting an attorney involved if he's willing to help. I have a feeling you'll hit a deadend quickly on the 'law' side of things, but good luck anyway.

Not trying to debate anything. I've been selling Wiseco pistons for as long as I've been a member of this site. I'm Just trying to help you figure out what they are based upon what I know. No sense in mailing them to a company just for them to read the dish for you when you can do that for yourself. Just ignore me if you don't want help. :)

Only 7-bolt pistons run 22mm pins. HD or not, 6-bolts run 21mm pins.

Oh ok no I am listening, just a little upset. What is the custom spec sheet. If they were custom how would I tell. Do you have a set laying around? :)

Understandable. I would be too if I were you. Situations like this are exactly why I'd NEVER buy a used engne over the internet unless it were just a core. Especially when price isn't an issue. Live and learn though.

What is the custom spec sheet.
All sets of Wisecos will come with a spec sheet. But without having a good image of that one, I can't tell if it's anything different from the norm.

If they were custom how would I tell. Do you have a set laying around? :)
If I were you, I'd call wiseco on Monday and find out what that "ASC" number is. That's usually where the part number would be, but their part numbers begin with a "K".

I don't have any HDs laying around. Only standard Wisecos.

Are you going to call them or you think I should I sent them an email with the asc in it so maybe I will here from them. In the mean time please get me a price on the HDs.

woooah, went thru every dam page, for a crazy finish never saw that coming !
it sucks getting ripped off like that, when i bought my car, it had been rigged to run fine but after about like 100 miles after i bought it, the engine and turbo blew, which resulted in aloooott of stuff getting messed up it was a long recovery process :/

This thread was compromised the day it was created, the OP didn't know shit about DSMs and then you went and bought his used pile of accumalted crap parts and are suprised they all suck... really? Did you read any of the thoughts/questions/build ideas Slippi had? Water seeks its own level.:thumb:

Well ist, maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. It is funny how some people love to rub it in when others appear to be down. I promise you sir, I am not down. Now I will try and take what you said as constructive criticism. I will respond in the same manner. If you read the thread. The problem was not the parts, it was his assembly of said parts. Now you are right he didn't know what he was doing. He didn't listen to anyone. Now I understand your willingness to help, so if you have anything else to offer that will be great. Other than that......SAVE IT.:thumb:

Now I almost ordered new pistons last night but I will wait to hear back from wiseco. If I don't here back from them by Tuesday I will order the HDs. Small price to pay for piece of mind. Mike if you read this,mi got close last night, but I kept hearing your voice in my head. BE PATIENT...LOL. So I held off.

I'm sorry but yes it is, but I had to let others know so they could learn from my mistake. Always do your homework. Here is what I would like to do if it is ok with moderators. I would like to document the rebuild of this motor on this thread. Now that a great local guy, named Mike will be in charge, it will be in the 9s. Trust me Mike does not compromise. He also does not tolerate my impatient money spending ways.

Glad I didn't buy the motor too. I bought the shell, but didn't have money for the motor at the time. Why are you finding this out about the motor a year later? Did it take that long to get to you or did you just not have the time to take it apart?
