Let me start off by saying: if I see something like this happen again where someone uses a thread to complain about a transaction it will be deleted and the poster will likely be banned. Complaints about a transaction belong in the Buyer/Seller Feedback for that user, not in the public forums. I don't know how many times I have to repost this site policy. Maybe we need to start banning people to make it more clear.
Secondly, if I find replies like I did here, where long-time members are participating in flamewars instead of reporting them to Moderators, they will be banned immediately. The NUMBER 1 RULE on this site is to be civil and not participate in flamewars, post personal attacks, post rebuttals to personal attacks, etc. If you can't follow the first rule on this site, after years of being a member here, you need to find another DSM site to call home. I don't care who threw the first verbal jab. I don't care what the other guy said about your mom that caused you to reply with the crap you said. This isn't kindergarten. I expect everyone here to show self restraint and to get the Moderators involved to shut this childish crap down quickly. I just deleted a page full of personal attacks posted by members who should know better. I'm not sure why I haven't banned them all yet. Maybe I'm just in too good a mood, it being my birthday week and all.
If you start a build thread and abandon the build, have the courtesy to post a reply and let everyone know, and then alert a Moderator so they can close the thread. No sense in leaving it open, especially if you have no plans to stick around the site and participate in that thread going forward.
There's no real good situation in my mind where a build thread should continue on by the new owner when the car has been sold - especially when the only updates are posted for the sole purpose of letting others know what happened with the transaction in an attempt to warn the community... again, that's what the Buyer/Seller Feedback tool is for.
