That air filter looks HUUUGE! Think it will clear the tire? :p

Lol I know it's bigger than the turbo or just as big ROFL. This kit was already on a car though so I know it will fit. Then again when I put the slicks on I will have to watch cause I think the previous owner just used regular tires and rims I am aiming for 26" QTPs. Either way I can down grade and be cool if I need to. If my air filter is my biggest fittment worry I'll be ok.

Casey had 26" Hoosier QTP's on it I'm sure you'll be fine...

I meant with the air filter and the 26" tires. I know the 26" tires will firt in the wheel well. Thanks for thta picture though I hadnot seen those two before. He has a walk around video though which shows the whole car. You can't build them cleaner than he did but I am gonna try to make it go a little faster :sneaky:

so what is NEW?

Nothing big just the fittings and lines for the turbo new COP and I wanted to see how the bov line would look coming from the vacuum box. Like I said I was mainly just bored. I just got a new job and a raise so that will help but contrary to what some people say I'm not rich I just am committed to building this car the right way and that takes time. Nov 1 the shell gets picked up and makes it way to the east coast then things should move along like I said.

Who's doing your short block again? I sawy your pics of you pulling it apart. . .

haha what do u mean where did i come from

Sean's right. Not you bud, BigTerbo :)

Sean, you bought that hx52 off of ebay right :) . I would most certain attempt to talk som sense into a honda guy with an 'ebay turbo kit', though I run a ebay wastegate. Think about the differnce in complexity and purpose and what it must endure and what needs to be replaced on it if it fails and so many other factors.

I got my hx40 off of ebay this turbo I got from Goldfarb assosiates. Not that I couldn't haven't got it off ebay though ;)

I got my ITB smim off ebay too guess that's a no go too even though the last car it ran on went 9.2.

Cool build, nice thread you've got going! Your parts will ship tomorrow!!!

Jay

Haha yep or in hardees parking lot. Because theres just SOOOO much to do. LOL. Whats your name. I might have met ya before. Me and my friend were the only ppl in town that really knew DSMs. That actually lived in town.

O shit i just looked at your pics. I think i know who you are. Do u know billy with the silver 3g? 1slow3g on the tag

Evo style twinscroll 20g turbo with 450cc injectors? :)Yea I know him. He sold another friend of mine, Thomas, a 1Gb with a g4cn 1.8 6bolt swapped into it instead of a 6bolt 4g63 :). Then I bought it :(. I thought it was just a hyundai valvecover. Should have looked at the block code. . .

But anyway. My name is Matt and we've lived here for about 4 years. . . I think I met Billy about 3 years ago.

Yes, with leather and a 'somewhat' repainted "to-same-color" front bumper skin and big ebay fmic:) . . . There was no oil in the 4 bolt rear for some reason. . . It had 2g 450s ( so someone knew it wasn't a turbo 4g63 motor). And no injector seals at the head, just 2 big o rings per injector, hey-ooge boost leak. . . Missing starter bolt, tranny mount bolt. . . More. He works too fast to have a fast car :p.

Fortunately, I am basically a dsm graveyard and doner bank; and so I had a spare 4g63 block to use the g4cn crank in (same 6bolt crank as the 6bolt 4g63). . . And other spare parts. . .

I have now 272 regrinds, real 4g63, 7cm^2 turbine housign on a good 14b and a wally fuel pump with 550s and a 2g maf. It will be a much more fun car.

Got my fittings welded in by a local shop that I send a lot of work to. The oil pan came out real clean. The water piper looked a little ify where the old pipe that went back toward the firewall was so I went over it with jb weld and then recoated it with the same ceramic paint as the manifold so it should be cool. I'm going to pick up the tstat housing tomorrow. That piece is actually aluminum and I had to get a shop that does aluminum to do it because the other guys said they couldn't do it. I'll post pictures of that when I pick it up. I went -10 on the oil pan and -16an all around on the coolant hookups

Ask him how well it welded up. ;)

That's some nasty stuff that Mitsu used to cast those. It smokes and spatters while filling the area with a burnt coolant smell.

Sean, wait til you see the valve cover I'm doing right now. It dominates all (except for that sick ass fabricated one that was posted on the Link forums a while back). You're gonna want one. ;)
