420A Possible rod knock or top end?

To me that sounds like the common failure of the 420A: piston slap.

Have you drained the oil yet? Normally piston slap won't cause too much debris, while a rod knock definitely would.

No I haven't but I'm replacing the pan soon. It first started as a knock only when you would give it some gas, but it's developed into a constant knock now
