possible new purchase - help please!!!

hey peeps, i figured i'd start a thread now that im seriously considering buying a dsm. i saw a silver eclipse for sale that a budyy of mine shared with me on facebook. i got a very nice amount from a trust fund and have always wanted a really fast car. supposidly this one is fast so i wanted to ask wheres the best place to learn about these cars. can anyone tell me what things i should look for when i go check this car out?

I for one see no problem with the OP purchasing Tim's car. He has shown a willingness to research and learn about these cars which is more then I can say for most of the new members these days. He will learn how to drive a 5 speed (we all had to at some point). I think with time he will learn to love these cars an appreciate them just like we all do and he will have a nice head start on upgrading! Sure it will be a learning experience, but so is everything else in life. Who are you guys to flame him. I think you should all consider yourselves lucky that the mods have been too busy trying to straighten out the hack on the site to issue warnings to all of you for flaming him and joking around instead of helping him.

If I kept it, I was going to pull the motor, throw in steel rods, and downgrade the turbo back to a GT4088R and cut the cage out.
