Hello all,
I'm looking to purchase a DSM as a 2nd fun/weekend car.
I've had 3 DSMs in the past(92 plymouth laser FWD NA, 93 eclipse GSX and a 95 talon AWD)
so I'm not as big into the going fast(think I don't want to build a 10-11second car LOL) just want something peppy and sounds good.
My question is I'm looking at 2 currently

The first is a 91 GST 5 speed, comes with a 16G turbo,FP exhaust manifold,, link, evo wheels and stock wheels, and some "miscellaneous parts". Body is probably a strong 7.5-8/10

The 2nd is a 93 TSI AWD has stock turbo and exhaust, owner thinks it has a "built motor" from previous owner but hasn't been able to verify, body is about the same as the 91. My problem is the interior, it has a red roll cage installed and the back half ripped out. Also said half the interior stuff didn't work?(haven't asked what's meant by this, like locks or windows?)

Since I don't plan on drag racing my first steps(after maintenance items) would be pulling out the cage and trying to track down all the interior pieces to put it back together.

My question is which would you be more opt to purchase and why? Oh, also both are about the same asking price as well.

Far more potential for previous abuse, much more parts scrounging ,and more latent gremlins in #2. Although you didn't post any mileage on either. However a close and detailed inspection on both will yield far more info than folks guessing here.
Yeah, the first has 125,xxx miles and the AWD roughly 150,xxx. And you're right about the further issues in the 2nd.. he said "it may have been used for racing by previous owner"

Is the 93 an auto or 5 speed? The gst sounds better but you’d be giving up the awd. That’s a tough one.
The 93 is a 5 speed. And yeah, if I had more options around me for DSMs I'd look to a nicer AWD one but these aren't common haha
