ok so I got a trainne for pizza hut in my car with me, and I'm going down the interstate and I notice lose of power in my throttle and a weird smell so I pull off the off ramp car shuts off and won't turn back on :( so I get into a gas station and billowing smoke from under the hood.. white smoke. So I bought coolant put some in pours out the bottom so I think raditior has a hole in it, so then I take the bumper off to get a better look. There's oil in my wheel wells :? Both left and right a decent amount to, but I can't find a oil trail? No where,,, any ideas? Anyone around jacksonvile that can come to westside and give advice/sell parts./help wrench? I'm sitting in subway waiting on a tow truck as we speak,

You're going to delivery in an evo? Screw that. Good luck getting a half decent condition evo for 10k. I've been looking for 2 years for something like that and still have found nothing.

My old white 2g did the same thing, it was the water pump plus it jump time. It shut down on me going up a hill an I coasted down it, didnt bent my valves dsm god looked out for me, on my way to work :( It wouldn't start up but the coolant poured out like a mofo.

You might as well change your water pump and timing to be safe.

Good luck keep us informed.

Bank turned my loan request down.

At least you tried...I didn't mean to be so discouraging in my last reply, but I also wanted to give some relevant advice based on my own knowledge/experiences. It's a tough situation, no doubt about it, and I do hope you get the car sold and can afford to get yourself a replacement vehicle to get you through until you can afford something better. I wish you nothing but the best of luck, hope things turn out for you. I know how heartbreaking it can be to have the car you love go tits up when you absolutely need it most (my experience was with a Land Rover...but that's a story for another time).

Black Widow97, how was he supposed to try any harder to get a loan than he already did? If he got turned down at his own bank, how was any other reputable bank going to be expected to give him a loan? In some respects, you're probably sort of correct, he may have been able to get someone to eventually give him some money, but it would have been one of those F'd up places that charge 40% interest or some crazy ish like that, or it would have been from a friggin loan shark in some seedy alley. I'm amazed at some of you guys, talking about how easy it is to get loans and how this kid didn't try hard enough to get one. He is 19, and the path some of you are recommending is a sure way to F up his credit for a long long time. Plain and simple, banks don't give out loans to people who are a.) young, b.) haven't been working at their job for very long, c.) have no credit history, and d.) have no collateral. The ONLY way around that would have been for him to get a cosigner, and even then the terms of the loan would probably not have been very good. He is not Goldman Sachs, he is not entitled to free government loans whenever he wants...he is a 19 year old pizza delivery driver who needs a car.

There is some seriously bad financial advice being given in this thread. OP, the route you're on is the best one to take, sell whats left of your GST and buy a reliable beater for work. Come back to the DSM game when you can afford it, this community isn't going anywhere anytime soon, we'll still be here when you get your next DSM.
