ok so I got a trainne for pizza hut in my car with me, and I'm going down the interstate and I notice lose of power in my throttle and a weird smell so I pull off the off ramp car shuts off and won't turn back on :( so I get into a gas station and billowing smoke from under the hood.. white smoke. So I bought coolant put some in pours out the bottom so I think raditior has a hole in it, so then I take the bumper off to get a better look. There's oil in my wheel wells :? Both left and right a decent amount to, but I can't find a oil trail? No where,,, any ideas? Anyone around jacksonvile that can come to westside and give advice/sell parts./help wrench? I'm sitting in subway waiting on a tow truck as we speak,

So are you going to sell it to get a daily driver or are you going to buy another daily and save up for the swap? I used to make enough money to not touch my paychecks and only use the tips I earned for an allowance. Of course I was single though, and driving a Honda. All I can say is don't give it up yet.

its pretty bad it has to be swapped from my own point of viedw its chewed and I couldn't do a swap on my own much less afford a new motor so I'm sorry guys and gals I'm out of dsms for probaly a year LOL but I WILL BE BACK mabye with a evo this time :)

If youre shit broke, how do you expect to buy an EVO? Let alone mod it? I still dont think you should listen to that clown. But if you insist, just don't sell it to him. Put it up on tuners here for a good price.

I agree with the other fellas. This guy might be giving you the reach around handshake.

See if you can find a local dsmer who knows their shit and ask them too look at it. For all you know it could be the oil cooler or the turbo. I feel for you man. I wish I could help ya.

Well damn guess this is becoming the negitive thread LOL, a pizzahut pay check isn't enough to support my dsm much less do I actually wanna use it so I think its time for like a metro or cavlier,

Yea untill the police catch up with you for bank robbery :) seriously how much did you pay for the car and how much are you going to sell it for?

Did the mechanic tell you about the "secret" cure for crankwalk? Well, it's a new flux capacitive!! It will save you from needing a rebuild.

If you do sell it, ill give you 1k for it..

Dude, you deliver pizzas...get a cheap beater. You can find one on CL easily. Don't pay more that $1000. You can find some for like $500. Just drive it till it dies. It'll probably surprise you. Then you won't have to worry about your "baby." I used to be a deliver driver too. It puts alot of abuse on a vehicle.

Save your money and do some research. I used to be mechanically-illiterate, but from researching and talking to other fellow DSMers, I have become fairly competent with working on DSMs and other cars in general. I might be alittle timid sometimes, but I can usually find another fellow DSMer nearby to give a hand, ask a quick question, or borrow a tool. And yes, I started with a similar array of tools too, but it has grown as I have completed projects and needed "cooler" tools to make jobs easier.

Relax. Don't get stressed over it. I think I know how you feel. You just want answers. I think most of us DSMers have been in a similar situation. Just jack the car up and put it on your jack stands. Get a good light and get underneath the car. You might want to spray some brake cleaner to clean up some of the mess underneath. Don't spray too much or you wont be able to locate the leaks.

I've got about 5 grand into the car id be happy to get 1200 for it but I don't think that would happen, anyone on tuners has a day to make a jump on it.

We get it you need a motor. Go to a salvage yard and get one. You have just as much tied up in buying another car as fixing that one. You'll probably have around 2k wrap up in it with a stock replacmant motor. Since this is a delivery car I wouldn't worry about modding it yet. Or park it and get a beater then fix that one up when you do have some money and learn more about the car.
