2G Oil pan level sensor

Hello, I would like to know if a Oil pan level sensor from a Evo 9 would fit in my Eclipse 2g with a 4g63. Would this work or would it indicate me a false oil level because the oil level is not the same on a Evo 9? Because my oil level sensor is not good anymore.

Its a sensor to detect fluid. It doesn't matter what car it is as the sensor type is not differing on level of placement ONLY when its uncovered / likely resistance based

AFAIK neither 1g or 2g came with one. So what are you going to hook it up to?

Where on the 1G/2G were you thinking to put the sensor? Isn't the Evo 9 transverse in the engine bay, and the Evo 9 oil pan turbo drain and other features are incompatible with the Evo 1-3 DSM 1G/2G stuff?

Would this part then fit on my Eclipse? Because it looks the same but it’s not listed for a Eclipse It should be MD302295 but this one is MD302293

Looks similar, not sure if its a part number revision or resistance inside but check what cars they fit. I have one of these pans from a Galant with the sensor in so check what one works on a Galant and opt for that one

Okay I just found that this one works on a Galant with 2.0 engine so this must be ok.

Europe did not get the 420a, they got the 4g63 NA so its the same pan as galant and our pans

I'm not sure if they were sold there or over this side on the 6 bolt, 7 bolt for sure but don't recall the 6 bolt 1G being sold that early on. My 1gb is an import from the US but same non turbo 4g63 and 6 bolt. I would have to google when the 1g's started to sell in Europe.

Hello, I would like to know if there is any way to delete the oil pan level sensor because I cannot find one to replace. So now I would like to just delete it and make the oil light go away.

If plugging it removes the sensor then leaving it in place and un plugging it surely does the same thing does it not. Free plug and as simple as disconnecting the connector.

Looks like you can just put a jumper wire on the connector and that should turn off the lamp.

If I remove the sensor it will leave the circuit open and the light will stay on

I will try a jumper wire if this works than it will be good.

Looks like its a simple switch. Low oil level makes it become a “open” circuit triggering the light.

Since this sensor was not originally equipped in the US or Japan, Mitsubishi may have used a sensor from other manufacturers, such as Mazda, Toyota, Nissan etc. They shared many same sensors. If so, perhaps the sensor is not discontinued yet or still replacement is available.

It’s a Mitsubishi Part and it’s equiped on the European Eclipses with the 4g63 N/A. Part number is MD302295.

You didn't get my point. Many sensors are shared between different manufacturers by putting it on their own part number and package. So maybe you would be able to find the same part from a different manufacturer car. That's what I meant and why I recommended you to check some mark or numbers on it.
Anyways you already have the diagram, just do what you need.
