2G oil drain setup question, oil feed from OFH

What you say about this setup? Short vertical part and much more horizontal part with little angle.
Is it ok for hx40? I.D. - 23mm. At the pan it will be welded as high as possible (I have an extra NT pan and don't see at old stock drain)
Or I need scavange pump?

I'd be concerned about the long section leading toward the pan...as long as it can still drain toward the pan, you're OK- but remember our engines lean forward a bit when mounted in the car, so just make sure the bend in your line isn't actually the lowest point or it'll never drain.

Got it. Real position is shown on the second pic. Bend isn't lowest point.

I have an Evo3 oil filter housing, which is clean port for turbo oil feed and what the best port for temp and press?

As far as I know it's #3 in the pic. If anyone can confirm, that would be great.

1 is the dummy light for low pressure, 2 should be clean oil for feed line and 3 is stock oil press. You could remove the stock one and install aftermarket there but would recommend a remote mount kit. If you wanna keep stock then you could run a tee off number 3 for both stock n aftermarket. I wouldnt worry about oil temp but you could place is in any off them. Use any unused ports. Im not that familiar with evo 3 oil filter housing

Paul is correct. #3 is the filtered port.

#2 is the same port, internally, as #1 and straight from the oil pump (pre-filter). As for the oil pressure gauge unit and dummy light unit, read this: OFH help. On a 1990 air-cooled OFH, #4 is the original location of the oil pressure gauge unit -- also the same port, internally, as #1 and #2.

Wow I have my ports backwards and when I look at pic and thinking about it, it makes more sense then what I said.

UrbanSmoker, yes, it would be a new hole to the left of stock one, as high as possible, ported to 23mm.

As I understood about OFH,

port #1 - pre-filter, I can use tee for dummy light switch and aftermarket oil press unit together.
port #2 - also pre-filter, so I can put oil temp unit there, but no feed.
port #3 - clean oil after filter, feed line to the turbo.

is it correct?

I've seen cars with high crankcase pressure have drainage issues with huge drains, and other cars work fine with a stock 1g drain on an aftermarket turbo fed from the ofh.

That doesn't mean run an undersized line and pray. It means tired engines are hard on other parts.

Sorry to dig up the old thread, but does anyone know where to source the blue BSPT adapters shown in the picture to reduce to the right size for the gauge? I've been looking for them with no luck.

Figured I would update this thread for others who may be looking. A co-worker tracked this adapter down for me. Allows you to mount a 1/8 NPT sender or anything really into one of the blocked off 3/8 BSPT ports in the OFH.
