I just ordered my intake and K & N filter from Dejon and now I'm looking for a Catch Can. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? I have looked on some web sites with no luck, with the exception of (i think) Machv for $99.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also does anyone know if any one sells the rubber window trim that goes on the door for the window. You know the one at the top of the main part of the door on the outside. The black coating has pealed off and looks pretty bad.

Thanks in advance! :D

Here is a good one. Its called NR-G. Just like Greddy. We sell them for $70 shipped.

Ok so I have to make something in shop class  so i decided to make a catch can...i just need to know is there a vent or hole of some sort on top of the can to make a relief for the system? I have a box with a bolt on the bottom bent down to make a bowl like shape to the bolt. i just need to know if i have to put something like a hole/filter on top for it.

thanks

Yes, you're going to need a hole on the top of the catch can and add a filter to it.

I just got my car running with ny new set-up. But I got a new, small problem. I have a catch can with two inlets (one for the valve cover, and one for the PCV valve). My car has been in storage and has not been started in 6 months. Now when I drive it, oil does not gather in the catch can, but water does. Where is this water coming from? I did change my oil after pulling it out of storage. The car drives fine and runs great. There is no leaks and no smoke (*knocks on wood*). Anybody have any ideas???

mine does the same thing, it is just condensation, it is the eaisest place for it to gather.
I figured it would be condensation from it sitting all winter. But I also figured all the condensation would have worked itself all out within the first 20 min drive. I've driven it about 7 times averaging about 15 min each and I'm still getting a little bit of water each time I drive it. And I have no sign of oil in there yet..... How long does it take for this condensation to work itself out?

Just got done making my own catch can. I installed like on taboospeed.com. Now at idle the can smokes. I drove the car around boosted a bunch and came back and the can still smokes. When I say smokes I don't mean pouring smoke it makes puffs about as big as your fist. Is this normal for other people? Otherwise what can I do to fix it?

Ooh thanks alot, I never knew.. I've seen a thing coming out of those as well, it looked like an intake cone but smaller coming out of there. Whats that?

i just ordered a greddy catch can this afternoon. i have been trying to figure out a place in the engine bay to mount this thing. i cant find anywhere that i might be able to bolt the bracket to. does anyone have any pics of where they've mounted their catch cans at?? i also tried mounting my mds dis-2 ignition in the engine compartment and couldnt find anywhere to put it either so it went unded the dash beside the ecu. thanks in advance for any help.

I just got a Weapon R Catch Tank the other day and was going to mount it, thinking it would only take a couple minutes. Then i looked under the hood of my TSI and realized theres barely any open space. Got any suggestions on where to mount the tank? Thanks :talon:

I relocated the battery to the trunk and mounted my oil catch and my coolant res in that spot.

I think rre has some pictures of where they mounted a greddy on that side of the motor as well

i have an idea of how to hook up the catch can so that the crank case is always ventilated. if i put a breather on the valve cover vent nipple, and plug where the pcv valve used to vent into the intake manifold, and run a line from the pcv valve to my catch can then from the catch can to where the valve cover vent nipple used to be routed to the intake duct.
my theory behind this is that theres always vaccum in the intake ducting hence it will always be keeping the pcv valve open allowing fresh air to circulate from the breather.
what do you guys think? thanks :talon:

Why would you thing the crankcase wants to be ventilated? It just wants to let blow-by escape. No need to give it central air and heat. You only want a catch can to keep the escaping glop from entering the intake stream or drooling onto the ground. It ain't rocket surgery.

what do you guys think? does it help out at all? have heard different opinions from friends. wanna see what you think.
