I just ordered my intake and K & N filter from Dejon and now I'm looking for a Catch Can. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? I have looked on some web sites with no luck, with the exception of (i think) Machv for $99.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also does anyone know if any one sells the rubber window trim that goes on the door for the window. You know the one at the top of the main part of the door on the outside. The black coating has pealed off and looks pretty bad.

Thanks in advance! :D

Ok, I want to make a homemade catch can for my new intake system im getting.

I've been looking around and have found a container to use to hold what ever blow by i get but my qustion is how many hoses run into the catch can. I know that there is the one off tha valve cover. But Iv seen pics of other catch cans and they both have 2 hose connections.

Which 2 hoses connect to the catch can?

Thanks :talon: :dsm:

heh all i did was buy a fuel filter from kragan and cut my hose in 2 and put the filter on cheep $2 fix i just change it when i do my oil change
:thumb:

the vfaq write up says just the hose on the left of the valve cover is cut in half then you just stick the filter in between it, voila!

Ok so you cut the valve cover hose in half stick one end in and the other end still goes back into the intake system?

And I thought the catch can was just a place to hold light blow by if any, i dident know that there had to be a filter inside it. Or am i not understanding this correctly?

Heres what i thought:

Valve cover hose---- to catch can, bottom end of catch can has an out let to drain any oil.

???

Thanks :talon: :dsm:

mainly just something to catch the oil from draining into your intake witch will goto you intercooler and after a long time have oil in there kinda sucks, like i said i just use a small fuel filter to catch the oil then replace it when i do an oil change so it dont get full.

I have the roadrace engineering catch can atmosphered and hooked up to both the valve cover vent a my eliminated pvc barb. I finally drained the catch can after about six months and the color of the oil was a greenish tan color. Is that normal?? Before I installed the catch can it was used as a fuel catch can and smelled like fuel so would that cause the color to change??

I know on my catch can on a cool morning I will get a lot of condensation built up inside turning the oil a milkey brown. Maybe with the gas added to that you might get the greenish color added...I am not sure.

Hi,

Make sure you don't have a blown head gasket and that it is leaking coolant into your oil.

My catchcan oil looks like oil.

Yeah, check to see if it's coolant. Is it the same green color when you check your dipstick or change your oil?

Ya, I checked my oil and it had bubbles in it, but that was right after a minute start up I let it sit and checked it again and there were no bubbles its just normal old oil color, I think the color change is only in the catch can.

Sweet...Ya it has been 100% humidity and been raining for the past couple of days.

Also, are you guys atmosphering your catch can or plumbing it back into the intake

I have a oil catch can on my car and I am having problems with. The can that Im using has a very small opening in the lid and Im blowing oil out of that hole. There are also two inlets on the can. I have both vents from the valve cover routed together into the can with no pvc valve and from the can back into the intake. I thought that was the right way for the can to be installed but it seems like im getting crazy pressure built up.

Does the catch can have a breather.I have an rre catch can with breather.I also put a fram fuel filter in the loop with the catch can and it clogged up very fast and then car started leaking oil everywhere and blowing it out the tailpipe.I took off the clogged fram and just went back to the catch can.I think if you loop your catch can from pcv outlet to the valve cover with no breather it will pressurize the crankcase and cause leaks and oil burning.
If you have a non breathered catch can than would think you would need to run it into intake tract like stock or maybe just down to road.
I also took out my pcv and replaced it with a straight fitting.

I checked oil in my catch can and when the fram filter blocked up it seemed to stop all oil from getting in the breather can.

I don't think those frams are a very good idea now.

Like i said before I have no pvc valve and both the valve cover holes are put together into the catch can. Then from the catch can it goes into the intake. The can Im using is a cheap knock off It has two inlets and a unscrewable cap on top. In that cap is a small vent hole and that is where Im blowing the oil out of.

I tried to search but it will only let me search "oil ctach" because "can" is such a frequently used word... But anyways I want to install an oil catch can, how could I go about this?
