oil catch can?

will a catch can from the nipple on the left of the valve over to the air intake nipple keep oil out of my intercooler? or do i need another 1 somewhere? thanks

I doubt it would help, sounds like the seals in your turbo are shot.

idk i was thinking just blowby from the breather to the air intake and oil sliding down the the turbo

The simplest, effective, and inexpensive way to go about this is to purchase an inline fuel filter from your local auto parts store. Install it with the direction of flow going from the VC to intake. You should notice filtered blow-by gases collecting over time.

If you notice an excessive accumulation of oil though, I would check your PCV valve for functionality. You might be having poor pressure relief in your crankcase.

OP, YES, a catch can between the nipple on the valve cover, also called a valve cover breather, and the intake pipe nipple will help to reduce oil in your intercooler piping. You should really look into the can that JCS Automations sells. It's a coalescing filter catch can. Also, in order to really eliminate problems caused by the PCV system you should add another catch can between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. You should also install a check valve between the PCV and the catch can as well.

Bad turbo seals can cause oil in the intake pipe, but it's more likely that when your turbo seals go that you will start smoking black out of your tailpipe. OP, unless you're smoking a lot out of your exhaust you most likely have the same PCV system blow-by that all DSM's suffer from.
