Dyno it and find out
You won't maximize your cams unless you get adjustable gears to find your true TDC and then figure out where the power gains are at with adjusting +/- from that 0 point.
I have a 98 gst all stock with turbo if I were to take it to the track ### time should it run about? Ot has 129k miles on it and only a catback system?
Asking what a STOCK car is supposed to run is not bench racing. Almost every manufacturer documents 0-60 and 1/4 times on the sporty/muscle car modles. Does that mean bench racing by the manufacturer? Were talking base line here. Not "what will these mods do for my 1/4."
Ok cool. And I have a td05 turbo sitting at my house what all do I need to do before I properly install it and make it run like a beast?
Hence why I said assuming it is in good shape mechanically. Just remember. If we continually respond to new folks in the manner that I see constantly here lately. Were going to drive off the newer inexperienced folks. We will get a reputation similar to other car forums that were too good to help the new guys or were all just a bunch of cocky a$$ hats. I know your a wiseman so im not gonna reply any further.
I wouldn't mind if people used a canned reply like the one you were about to type Paul... We could even have members copy and paste it. Something like:
"There are way too many variables involved that prevent us from being able to accurately determine the data you're looking for. The members of this site strongly suggest taking it to the track or the dyno instead of having people here make random guesses."
Then report the thread.
