My buddy has the same engine supercharger in his Ion redline..It wasn't that fast stock..But he added smaller pulleys to up the boost, and blew it up twice..I couldn't tell you how badass it was when he upped the boost, cause I never rode in it before he blew it up either time..I can tell you that your buddy might have 300hp in his fwd cobalt..Might is the key word there..I say take him to the track and see how he stacks up against a stock awd..

Supercharged cobalts only have 205hp. I walk away from all of them. The newer turbo models have 260hp and are lighter than a dsm and still only run a 15 second quarter.

If it was turbo youde have an issue, but with a supercharged cobalt itl be a walk in the park, with my 20g i pulled one by 4.5 cars

+1111 on the vid and yea with AWD at a dig you will eat him alive. dont get me wrong the colbalts are a decent car when moded right the turbo'd ones anyways. In all you should walk on him no problem

Looks like you didn't read the whole thread. They will race at "sycamore race strip" that's what the Op said..

He said race strip so how is it street? If anything, this is more along the lines of BENCH racing.

So my brother bought a 96 impala ss, its a 5.7L LT1, 4 Speed automatic, and it weights around 4,221 lb. flow masters, and racing rims and tires is all he has on it. wiki says it makes around 260 horsepower.

he is always making fun of my eclipse, and i think if i beat him in a drag race, he would stop.

my eclipse is almost stock. s16g, 3"exhaust.

do you guys think al win!!!

I think your brother is just one of those v8 guys who won''t shut up till an almost stock dsm smokes him..

From a stop there is no doubt who would win on the track..But also hes got another 1000lbs on you..I don't think the extra"60 hp" is going to make that much of a difference at that weight..

I had a buddy who has a purple 96 ss..That thing was absolutly wicked..It was not stock by any means..He had tons of chrome under the hood..He had the engine built as well as the tranny..That thing would smoke the tires in a straight line for a while...He ended up selling it for 26k, that's how much of a beast that thing was..And super clean too..
