Mods-I didn't know exactly where to put this so I'm putting it here. Feel free to put it in the appropriate subforum

Anyways, my car is not starting. It cranks, but won't turn over. Look at my mods list on my profile to get an accurate idea of what I got going on.

So over the past week, my car hasn't started. I checked for fuel, spark, compression and timing like I'm supposed to. With the exception of compression being a tad bit on the low side (120-130-110-115), everything checked out.

Originally, when I finished the car, it had a wally 255 with 4an ss line to the fuelab filter to the stock fuel rail which had 1000cc injectors to an aeromotive fpr. I primed the motor like I'm supposed to, then I FLASHED the ecu to handle a 1000cc. Tried to start it and it was no go. I swapped back to the stock injectors and flashed the ecu back to stock. No dice. I swapped the FPR back to stock. Again, no dice. At that point, I was about to switch back to the 1000cc's and not flash the ecu. I unplug the fuel pump and crank it to relieve the pressure...and after about...3-5 seconds of cranking..the SOB starts, runs for like 5 seconds (Kelfords sound wicked awesome), then dies out (since the pump is still unplugged). Now, after excessive cranking, my starter is just spinning (so I'm guessing I burnt out the starter motor).

My question is what is preventing it from starting? Is it the fact that I switched out the fuel line so now my fuel pressure is out of whack? Is there something wrong with the Aeromotive FPR? Would swapping to a smaller injector help? Does my car just hate me? Feedback/ideas are appreciated.

Your compression is very low, that could have something to do with it.

I agree it's low, but that wouldn't prevent it from starting...since it already has technically...even for a few seconds.

I also know that the ECT sensor can play a role in it not starting. I put in coolant but only 1 gallon. Would adding more coolant increase the chances of starting? I'll probably end up just replacing it just to be on the safe side.

Compression that low can make the car real hard to start. There is obviously something wrong with the engine. You should address that before trying to add bigger injectors.

My FWD TSi had 90psi across the deck before I disassembled the engine, and it started and ran absolutely fine. For Eric having new, unseated rings in an engine that hasn't run long enough to get oil in the cylinders, I don't think his numbers are all that low.
