1G No power to 91 tsi and fuel pump

New to dsm my name is Brian. My car is bone stock 91 Talon tsi awd. My pump relay clicks but no priming of the pump. Is there a fuse or something else I'm missing to get the pump to work.

MPI relay stops working correctly when the ecu caps leak, right? I had a 90 FWD Laser that had that issue. I took apart the relay, jammed a piece of paper in it to hold it closed, and got the car home. Then had the ecu caps repaired.

You may want to take a look at the caps on the ECU board, but no promises. It could just as easily be something else. Do you have a digital multi meter?

Thank you! I do. I actually loosened the fuel filter bolt. Fuel shot out during cranking. I apparently have another issue.

Pull a sparkplug after trying to start it and see if it is wet or dry.

Okay so you are at least getting fuel delivered to the filter...+1 on checking plugs to see if its getting delivered to the combustion chamber...

I am not terribly familiar with 1g ECU but what is the typical fuel pump priming duration? How are you confirming that it is not priming? Just so we are on the same page.

1g's only run when cranking. Link does offer an option to have it come on with the key but I don't know that he has that option.

Check power to the ppi and fuses at the fuse box under the hood .
