90 tsi fuel pump no power

Today I installed my be 190 fuel pump and rewire kit. The install went smooth but once i turned the key to test it I have zero power to the pump. I have 12v to the other 2 wires but no power to the pump it self. I checked the car side of the wires and no power. I pulled the mpi and checked pin 2 which, from what I read is for the fuel pump and no power. When I turn the key you can hear the mpi click. Once I turn it off you can hear it click as well. I read a thread about testing it but honestly do not really understand it that well. Any advice you guys can give will be awesome.

Today I opened up the mpi and plugged it in and turned the car on. You can see on side click, which Iscnot the fuel pump side. The fuel pump side does not move. I pushed the fuel pump side down and you can hear the fuel pump start working. Does this mean that I need a new relay or is it something else. Also I do have 12v to 3 and 7

A new relay should do the job.

Just to be sure, you know that the only time the fuel pump is on is when the starter is running or the engine is, right. Just turning the ignition on isn't going to turn the fuel pump on.

If your using something like a datalogger of DSMLink to activate the pump and it's not working then either the ECU driver or the MPI relay could be bad.

Grounding the white/red wire from pin 56 on the ECU to pin 7 on the MPI relay should activate the pump.

Yes I did not know that the fuel pump only works when the car is cranking , but I know now, thanks guys
