Okay so i have a 1993 Eagle Talon Tsi awd with 14b. I know this has probably been covered but its my own build and I dont know how to start a blog of my build. I have an apexi n1 downpipe and full 3 inch exhaust, fp race manifold, greddy type s bov, and punishment racing fmic. I ran a 15.1 the first time at the track. My 60ft time was 2.5 and i feel like i should be running a better time. Any suggestions?

Now for the build im starting:
Small 16g
Megan ss o2 housing
Turbo xs manual boost controller
Pocketlogger with MMCD and tunerstein software
Prosport evo series oil pressure gauge and boost gauge
Dogbox short throw shifter
Dejon Intake with k&n

Now with this build being completed what should i expect for performance before the afc, fuel pump, and injectors? What about for my 1/4 times? should i see a difference?

It's not to bad of a time for the first time at the track. Until your fuel system is upgraded it's hard to push your soon to be set-up. but you could port your turbo before installing it. You need that boost gauge to ensure your running safe boost levels for your turbo set-up. But you should notice a faster time at the track it takes some practice with launches also playing with tire pressures but if you really want to go all out then just buy some slicks. Tuning will make a world of difference done right. You could always shave some weight on unwanted or unneeded accessories in the vehicle. If you look at the drag race discussions in the forums you will find more than enough information to make better times.

Well, If it were me, I would stay with the 14b but put it in a 7cm housing so that it will flow better up top. Take the extra money that you saved by not buying the 16G and put that towards an upgraded fuel system. I would recommend some used FIC 650s or 750s just for room to grow and lower injector duty cycles($150-200). A walbro 190 fuel pump would be planty fuel for what you are currently looking for and you wont have to fork out $150-$200 for a good AFPR.

Now, with larger injectors you will need a way to pull fuel so that you won't be running rich. I recommend ECMLink V3 lite if you are on a budget. Thats what I started with, and the tuning capabilities are much greater than with an AFC. Not just the fact that you have more potential to go faster, but you have the capability to make your car run smoother and healthier than it ever will with an AFC. You can monitor everything with it and make precise adjustments on the fly. You have mush more control over timing and air/fuel ratio because you aren't limited to fuel sliders.

If you can, ditch the Greddy type s when you can, and go with wither an NGR bov or synapse engineering bov, they both can have a greddy flange, so you wont have to change a thing about your intercooler pipes. I have a greddy type s as well, and it likes to leak anywhere over 15psi.

You can get into the 12s pretty easy with a 14b as long as you have a decnt tune and some seat time. Your current setup that you ran a 15.1 with is capable of low-mid 14's with a decent 60' time.

Well the problem is i already have the pocket logger. I just dont have the afc. And wouldnt it be smarter to go with 1250s or something with dsmlink for the possiblility to grow and to run e85? And i was told if i upgraded my clutch to the act 2600 and get a fuel pump and afc i could be in the mid 12s. And im on a budget build just like everyone else on here!

If you are on a budget which it seems you are(no offense cause I am to)
-Get ECUFlash with Ceddy Mods and EvoScan to tune and log with
-Run out the 14b before you upgrade the turbo(save a little cash)
-Money you save put into the fuel system, 720cc+, Evo 8/9 pump or 190 Wally and you can tune it with ECUFlash
-Then shead all weight that is not needed or that you don't want
-Get boost, oil pressure, and wideband gauges and that should set you into the 12's with a good driver...
-All other exhaust and intake parts you have listed will work...
Wait for good deals in the classified and you will save a ton of money

I also bought the 16g already. but i was planning on just waiting anyways until the 14b takes a crap. And yeah dont i need like 97 ecu or something like that?

If you want a piggyback fuel managment like the safc then I just pulled my maft gen 2 with a 3inch gm maf to match with couplers. It has more features and a little more tuning ability. I know it is off topic from the thread. But you do need something to tune your set-up.

Save the money and go with V3 lite. Trust me man, its worth the extra cash and AFCs are old tech. The car will run so much better with link. I was stuck in the same dilemma about 8 months ago.

You could always sell the pocket logger.

...

and yes if you plan on going with E85 in the future, go with some 1250's like you said. But you said you were on a budget and 650s or 750s can support a 16G on pump or race gas. Plus, they don't cost much.

Can you use ecmlink with a mac though?

So if i turn up the boost to like 13-15psi should i see a difference in my time at the track? and if i upgrade my clutch to the act 2900? I have a logger and a prosport evo boost gauge to monitor my motor and boost levels. What do you guys think?

Please someone please state your opinion on my last post.

Sure you will how much time dont know, what times are you looking for, i would turn up the boost as much as you can as long as you can see your air fuel ratios wich a wideband will be needed.

Im looking for just a better time! my best time was a 13.7. I want to get lower than that. So im putting in the 2900 and a manual boost controller. i already have a boost gauge. Im just looking for 13.5 or lower.
