haha dude I was just asking why you don't have a turbo listed in your profile.. No need to get your panties in a bunch..LOL you both need to relax:thumb:

oh thats right, captain intelligent seems to think that an eclipse spyder gs is a neon. dude, go drink a gallon of bleach. you will get further in life that way.
On my way to the store now. Any other requests?

Assuming the wiring harnesses aren't hacked to $#!7, it could be salvaged.

just to do it and find what's going on, take a good 6 hours or so with a bottle of simple green (or your cleaner of choice), a box of rags, a wire brush, and a hose, and clean the hell out of it. Every little crevice you can get into, clean it... however, you might want to plug your intake first.

as you're going through, make a list of nuts, bolts, cracks, wires, connectors, etc that don't look right, or are missing, or broken... if you need, take pix, and post up here to get some help identifying. with something as simple as an air filter missing, I wouldn't jump in and drive, if you wan't a decent, respectable car, and reputation on this site, you'll do it right, and not mess this car up.

Once you have identified as much as you can, make a shopping list and get to buying. Replace what parts are missing and broken, fix what you can at home without dropping money in it. go though and remove useless stuff installed (like fixing the grounds going on under that hood), get it to something that'll be easy to work on.

After that is done, or while you are doing it, go through the simple things, spark plugs, plug wires, belts, plugging vacuum bungs, make a shopping list for the bigger parts (like an air filter and the missing GM MAF), while sourcing out the nuts and bolts you need.

As you are sure something is complete and good to go on it, start going through fluids and maintenance, changing high wear items (like shifter bushings).

you definately got yourself one hell of a project here, but it can be done, once you go through and see what you need, and what you dont, write it down, make a checklist, and it probably will look more manageable :)

good luck

pretty f'ing clean on the outside nice chrome gst rims

if one day you get an extra car i would say take the engine out and tranny and take all that rust off

but for now i would say just take that ground off the manifold put air filter plug that hole in the intake pipe check for any wires that look they shouldn't be their and boost leak test for sure

+1 on the boost leak test. Testers are cheap and can fix a ton of problems/improve the performance of the engine! Not sure what's going on with that black wire on the manifold but throw it in the garbage! replace the bolt on your exhaust manifold. the vacuum line on your BOV should not be "T" like it is. it needs to be one solid line. the hacked orange wire coming out of your fuse box needs to be addressed and get an intake that isn't designed for the stock MAS because you don't have one......that is all for now

Ok I wanna start with the intake..I'm going to plug up that little whole and as far as putting a airfilter do I need the peice that goes between the intake and airfilter or is that little box there it?? Do I jest put a filter on intake??

just put the filter it should have the mas their but the previous owner put the gm mas and translater so it replaces the stock mas .....so yeah just put the filter on the pipe

Do all the maintenance first!!!!!! ### dont ruin the dsm by beating on it b4 u do ## bizzniss
AiiGHT dawwg. Its called proper grammer. Use it. We have no need for homeboiz on a car forum.
Ones thing here though buddy, these engines are not rev happy like some/most Honda engines. Don't go and try to rev your dsm to 8k + because your motor was not designed for that, plus dsm's don't carry variable valve timing like Hondas.

Other than that, so far so good. Just do routine maintenance and take care of your dsm and it will take care of you.
Really???????!!! THANK YOU AND ALL OF YOUR NOOBNESS for pointing out that elementary fact.
Yeah.... no "jdm" stickers please. Nor "jdm" eBay parts because as a Honda guy too, most things on eBay are not "jdm".
God Im about to flip a tit.
Fine, change that to they weren't made in Japan, so there is still no JDM market for them.
Correct sir:thumb:
It looks sooo clean on the outside, it's a shame the previous owner hacked everything up. I would not sell it but definitely start looking at clean engine bays to get a idea of what is "off" about your own. You need a filter on that intake ASAP and a plug on the tiny hole off to the side on the intake. There are other more "cleaner" places to have your ground strap located. And that red hose coming from the left side of your valve cover, that should be routed back into one of the nipples along the side of the intake to receive the appropriate vacuum to suck crankcase pressure out during boost. Also I'd look into the following:
NGK BPR6ES Spark plugs
Plug Wires
Boost leak test
Feel the knock sensor in the back of the block for oil/film/residue
Change oil/coolant/tranny fluid
Seafoam maybe ?

Is the check engine light on ?
How the fvuck would he even know that you ruh-tard? He doesnt even have a filter hooked up to the damn thing.
Check all the bolts on your exhaust manifold/exhaust housing. I'm pretty sure you've got some leaks.
Just shut your mouth. How did you determine he had a boost leak?

welcome.. you made an extremely great choice!!

be sure to tell you honda buddies how it feels to BE fast!! ;)

no but really.. start with basic maintainence!
oil change, timing belt, tune up, ect.
Get the Air filter on there!
Are there any issues with it that you know of while driving?
IF all Good.. and car runs great!

I would read that and RESEACH any question you might have before posting a thread asking something, because the chances are, its already be asked and answered!! And people DO hate repeating themselves!

the post I would agree with most is the one that told you to look at pics of clean engine bays and hold them up next to yours. Aside from obvious differences (for example, dont rip out your power steering just because you found a bay without one) but question some of the randomly placed wires. You're on the right track to fixing it up! Maintenance and research, maintenance and research. This site is full of already answered questions that you have!

good luck :hellyeah:

Following this could or could not help you!
I say its better to know more about the car rather than look at pictures of engine bays online..
Buy a repair book for you car at autozone or something and read through it.. not only will you find out where and what needs to be stock.. you will become extremely knowlegded on your car.. which in the long run will work out better for you!
Cause from then you can troubleshot you issues yourself..
you would understand the motor, the ecu, and all the components that work together to make you car run.. then when you deside to tune it up from stock, you will have knowledge to work with!

I say dont solely rest on using pictures to "FIX" your car!
Do it right so you dont have problems down the road!
IMO

One piece of advice. DON'T LISTEN TO OTHER N00BS WHEN ASKING FOR ADVICE. Wait for one of us to answer first.

So wait... u meen my ride dose not hve variable valve timing?
What brand of boost fluid do you use dawg?

On a serious note, Op- Got some work ahead of you, Good luck!

Jayson

Not to bad of a car man. You definately have some work ahead of you. Just don't let her get you down. Everybody here was a noob at one time. Good luck and welcome to the dark side. LOL

Just shut your mouth. How did you determine he had a boost leak?
Not boost leaks exhaust leaks. If he is missing a bolt on his exhaust manifold I'm sure the others are probably not all the way tightend and/or the nuts that connect his manifold to the head are probably loose or missing as well.

Just giving advice on what to check, don't really see how that isn't helpful?

I don't care if my opinion matters to you at all.LOL:p

I was only pointing that out, not everyone knows everything and i was only helping him out. I don't know why you even took your own time to bash on me. You might have X about of post's but you act like everyone knows everything already. I'm not trying to bash you here. I could really care less. I am just trying to help here and you are just bashing on me.

Relax

To the OP:

You have a nice ride there. Clean, Red, Dropped and dropped on some nice OEM wheels.

I'd like to see that Engine bay cleaner, Do your maintenance like mentioned above and you should be set. :)

by everyone telling him over and over to start with the basic, i think he has the point! and everyone telling him what they would do first... your gonna confuse the crap out of this kid!

welcome bud!
