new to the game..ive done some research but im learning slowly..here is a pic of my motor anything i should kno about it..one thing i did notice is that it doesnt have a air filter contected to intake..the guy told me it has a maft translator..thats why it dont need one..is that good?

It's not your car so don't take this as an insult, but look at the stupidity of the previous owner. eBay strut tower bar, but super overpriced spark plug cover. One has a function, one doesn't and look which one he cheaped out on.

where does the line that tee's off of your BOV go to? you should have one straight line from the intake to the BOV.

preludes are sexy, i agree completely. but the fear of waking up in the morning and realizing your car is stolen... now thats not sexy. but with the red gst... umm, how did you get suckered into buying this? cause ill sell you everything i got.

Humm from an og dsmer that don't look to bad/ or don't want to bother with it. But looks like you got alot of work to do because this is your first dsm.
-rust by strut tower... usual 2g problem
- bad wiring to say the least
If you lived near I would be able to help you piece it back. Out side looks clean though!
Oh and I came from honda also. Had a red d16z6 ej basic bolts with all the hop and jdm stuff. Really clean car to. Pulled a low 15... not to shabby considering 1 less cam and .6 liters less minus the turbo.
 
It looks sooo clean on the outside, it's a shame the previous owner hacked everything up. I would not sell it but definitely start looking at clean engine bays to get a idea of what is "off" about your own. You need a filter on that intake ASAP and a plug on the tiny hole off to the side on the intake. There are other more "cleaner" places to have your ground strap located. And that red hose coming from the left side of your valve cover, that should be routed back into one of the nipples along the side of the intake to receive the appropriate vacuum to suck crankcase pressure out during boost. Also I'd look into the following:
NGK BPR6ES Spark plugs
Plug Wires
Boost leak test
Feel the knock sensor in the back of the block for oil/film/residue
Change oil/coolant/tranny fluid
Seafoam maybe ?

Is the check engine light on ?
 
Check all the bolts on your exhaust manifold/exhaust housing. I'm pretty sure you've got some leaks.
 
oh thats right, captain intelligent seems to think that an eclipse spyder gs is a neon. dude, go drink a gallon of bleach. you will get further in life that way.
