New times on the Holset HX-35

Of course, this is a great result. But, at this level of performance, any hx35 compressor wheel is enough. It comes down to giving any compressor enough turbine flow to push them. . .

Guys I have been reading a bit about these Holsets and I an keen on puting one of these on my Evo. I am a bit concerned however about the oil supply. I am wondering why not use the factory oil feed for the original turbo? Is it that the oil pressure is too high or too low for the Holsets? I have a friend where I am who recently installed one on his SR20, however the shaft broke about a week after and i wondering if his oil supply(based on pressure) played a significant role in shaft breakage.

I certainly would love to use my stock oil supply however I am unsure, any guidance would be appreciated.

I use the stock feed line on my hx35 I just made my own banjo bolt at the turbo with a very small hole.

i cant believe this thread is still going, mike when you gonna have that hx-40 beast done and at the track?

Never woulda though a mostly stock 2.0 engine/completely stock 130k+ transmission/3-bolt rear on a diesel turbo charger would make it this far. It's amazing what a new clutch and fixing some boost leaks will do. Same exact tune as my previous 11.9 run last month. :D I was on approx. 28 psi with more fuel, for more boost. Starting to get a little scared about the stock drivetrain and things were getting squirly in the top of 2nd, LOL.
