Need a BOV to recirculate and hold about 30psi.

OK I am in the market for a new BOV, i have a TiAL 50mm but am going with a EVO MAS, so no venting for me. Just seeing what you guys recommend for a high horsepower higher boost level BOV.
Turbo that i will be using is either a 35r or 37r turbo.

Thanks fellas!

You could get the HKS SSQV w/ recirculation fitting. That BOV would work for sure for what you want to do. You could also possibly use the Greddy Type-RS, but I'm not 100% on it's holding capacity, but someone else may chime in.

I second the HKS SSQV. Great BOV for the money.

What I would NOT suggest at all is the Greddy type RS. I had 2 crap out on me and created a HUGE hassle for me.

SSQV is going to be your blow off. Doesn't leak during static boost leak tests (like the greedy), and doesn't leak while driving either. Holds as MUCH boost as you want it to, no pressure counter acting a spring against a piston. Only downfall is it cannot open as wide as say, a TiAl can, so you could run into surging issues with larger turbochargers.

Or you could go with the new tial bov that mounts to your existing flange and can be recirculated. I heard it should be available very soon.

There is a group buy on here for a really nice BOV that looks like it recirculates to. I forgot which post but it's worth looking into. I saw it posted either today or yesterday for a universal BOV that they test it to 100PSI from the factory. Can anyone remember the shop and the BOV in question?

Yeah, I just found it in the vendor announcements. I also saw that they are looking for at least 10 people for the group buy. If he's looking for something right away, this may not be the best choice.

i'll look into both the HKS and Forge bov's.
i wont use a 1g modded bov though, it would just be easier to run 1 good bov than 2 ok bov's at higher boost pressure.

I second Forge. They're fully polished and tuneable for boost level using different springs.

Forge Motorsport

I recently installed a Forge BOV on a customer's EvoVIII and it works great. I believe it's the only tuneable-by-spring-tension recirculating blow off valve on the market.

you could modify your current tial, just have to get creative!. Or wait for their new design.

hk$ either the ssq or the type 2 race. I have both and they work great. ( I run 32-35psi all the time).

so are you running 2 BOV's on one car or is this on 2 seperate cars?

And i decided to keep my FP Red so i imagine with water/meth injection i should see 28-30 psi at the track.

well for right now i am leaning towards the HKS BOV. does anyone know who the company was that made the 1g bov adapter flanges? my current i/c setup uses the 1g bov. and i havent gone parts hunting like this in a while so i'm really out of the loop.

I ran a ssqv for awhile and really liked it. When I stopped ricing it out, I didn't know that that unit had a recirculating kit, so I scraped it for the GReddy RS. I know that the original GReddy (type R or S, I get it confused these days) has been proven over and over and is durable, and that the RS is only a few years old and hasn't gone through nearly as extensive a history. I've however had no problems with it. It's the dual spring type which is one reason the SSQV is so good. I'll probably not be going above 21psi on the RS unit though. I know that wasn't really the answer to the main question, but for anybody who's considering the RS, I've certainly had no problems with it. I don't know if it is being as widely knocked-off on ebay as the SSQV, either. Note - Recirc. kit does NOT come with the unit, and costs MAYBE $15. Venting sound is very WHOOSHY though, not whistly/fluttery like the SSQV. If you are venting, you will not hear the bov when you shift unless under boost. I'm starting to worry that this is going to be the new FP Big28 or Evo III 16G debate after the things I've heard about people's opinions on GReddy and HKS bov!!

2 cars.

The Forge BOV you can put different springs in to adjust how much boost it can support. It also reserc.

does anyne know what a metal evo mr bov will hold? I've only tested mine to 23psi but boost leak tester has a hard time staying on past 24psi. this bov definately has been able to hold it, and it just proved how crappy those plastic valves are(leakin at 12psi) as for turbo's are you stuck on the gt garretts? i.e. borger warner s258?
