what wastegate are you running? and what boost controller are you running? i would check the boost controller. i had the same problem and it was my turbo xs mbc and the adjustment screw fell out.

i just got this car so realy dont know the name of the wastegate but its a 40mm and the boost controller is a hbc thats the name on the side of it.

Bypass the mbc/ebc, whatever you have, and run the pressure source directly to the wastgate. Test run but make sure you don't let it shoot pass 22psi. If problem solved, the controller is defective. If problem persists, you either have leaks, defective wastegate or wastegate adjusted too tight if it's adjustable, preventing the gate not to open on time or at all. You have much to learn about your new car, search and read as much as you can. Until you better understand what's going on, show some maturity and ease off the throttle. Congrats on the new ride.

You're welcome, the best place for you to start would be to call the person who sold you the car and ask him to provide you with a complete list of all modifications including brand and specs. You should have done that before you bought the car. ;)

Yes i got some of the mod list but there was so much done on the car he could not finde every thing done to it and i called him to see if he knew what could be the prob he said i dont know.so i will see what i can do should i turn the controller all the way down and see if that will do anything let me know what you think.

Update your profile with whatever you have so we can advise you on what else to ask him that are crucial.

Just follow what I gave you on my first post, if you have any questions on that, ask before you do it.

That's it, that's nothing. ROFL

That is some setup you got there, I don't even see a problem with running 30psi if it's tune right. Did you ask him if the wastegate is adjustable? Follow through with what I have suggested and go from there.

LOOK MAN THIS CAR IS A TOY FOR ME IVE ALLWAYS HAD BMW AND MBZ I WANTED SOME THING FUN TO DRIVE SO DONT ACT LIKE IM SOME CHUMP ALL I ASK IS TO SEE IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ME DO KNOW WHAT THE PROB IS THEN LET ME KNOW. :sneaky:

Take the inlet of the mbc (pressure source) and connect it directly to the nipple that is now connected to the outlet of the mbc. As for the second open nipple, someone else will have to chip in on whether it's right to be left open as I have never ran an external wastegate.

I bet one of the vaccum lines running to your wastegate is shotski or disconnected.

No cause there is only one and i already checked it and its ok.thanks anyway.

Hey gratz on the phat ride man. I love the look of the 98-99 Eclipse. I know you don't know much now but you are being told how to trouble shoot the problem. You have a lot under your hood and you would be very wise to go and learn up on the car and AEM and turbo's in general. Everything you need to know is on this site. Do some searching and LOTS of reading. You will be getting a lot of people telling off when you ask questions since you have so much $$$ under your hood.

If you really don't know what to do just drive the car over to a known repuatable dealership or rod shop that deals with imports and aftermarket turbo's and stand alone ECU's. Most backyard mechanics will tell you your stand alone is causing the problem and this and that. If you get advise on the board here try it out and then come back with the results.

Again great ride and just hook a good vac/boost source (that is after the throttle body) straight to the wastegate and see if the boost stays down. If not then you need to take the wastegate off and see what is malfunctioning in it.

This is good news. 12psi is probably is what the wastegate is rated for so the wastegate is fine. Like I have mentioned before, either the MBC is in question or the hose from the mbc to wastegate is leaking. Since you said already that you've check the hose, it's pretty clear that MBC is the problem.

Thanks for all youre help bro. ;)

Glad to hear that you found the source of the problem. I would get a EBC if you can afford it and tune the AEM for low and high boost which can be controlled from inside the car.

I've installed and played with the AVC-R and personally hate it. I just purchased the Greddy Profec B Spec II. I haven't installed it yet but from others I hear it's so easy to set-up and maintain unlike the AVC-R.

Just thought I'd give me .02 since you look to be in the market maybe.
