way to hold 28 to 30 psi on a 16g.

From what I've found in the past, shimming the wastegate may help get the initial spike to be higher, but once the gate opens the weak actuator still has difficulty pulling it back shut again so it still results in a big drop in boost.

The best choice if you want to keep the turbo internally-gated, especially if you have a 34mm flapper, is to upgrade the actuator to one with a higher spring pressure. When Mitsubishi designed the 16G they never imagined a bunch of gearheads would be trying to run 30psi on the stock internal wastegate system.

Old topic, but I use a heavy duty spring, and welded a little flange onto the actulator arm of the wastegate, then stretched sprin to something of some support. Was on a 1g I had along time ago. Wish I still had pics. Maby I'll try to draw on clip art.

Dude this thread is like a year and a half old. I would hope that the OP would have done this by now LOL

Actually the OP is has been running the new fp Green for at least a yr now.

However, this doesn't mean that this topic is no longer useful to others just because the thread is a year or two old.
