Name that sound please.. video

Hi fellow dsmers.. I recently changed my rear differential fluid to redline 75/140 and replaced both the rear boots that were torn (with the factory repair kit).. Now when I turn left under moderate speed I get this clunky sound.. Its at the 24 seconds mark in the clip.. I apologize in advance for my frog like voice.. Im congested!

To me it sounds like an exhaust rattle. Could you have slightly moved it in it's hangers while changing the boots? Doesn't sound like a failing cv shaft or any failing rear diff I've heard in a dsm or any other vehicle for that matter.

Try shaking your exhaust and see if it hits. Mind it moves around a decent amount while running from engine movement, cornering/braking forces, etc.

I've had many vehicles and more then a few exhaust rattles. If that's not it, I'd be fairly surprised, but who knows. After all ya learn somethin new every day!

Its crank walk!! jk sounds like exhaust hitting under the car id get under tge car and inspect it and at the very least try and wiggle the exhaust tip and see if theres play. check all bolts and hangers also check for broken welds.

what boots did you change was it an inner or outer . when you drive it is there a vibration . check to see if there is any play in the axle where it goes in the inner joint

Will check tomorrow. It's pouring out. But it was the inner boots. Wish I did the outer ones once I had the axles out, they looked old.

Turns out since adding my flex pipe, there was excessive sway in the exhaust and it was hitting the driveshaft.. Got a couple more hooks in the exhaust and we are back!
