Hello fellow DSMers,

I recently installed a new clutch into my Talon, and realized after putting everything back together that I had a stray bolt left over! My father (who helped me with this installation) and I have yet to find where it goes, but maybe a DSM guru could help us out.

Below/attached is a picture:

If the picture is too blurry, here are the specs:
  • 6.5 cm in length
  • 2 cm of thread
  • washer
  • locking washer
  • 10 mm head
  • very clean shaft (contained oil?)

Here are also some of the things we removed during the swap that may help:
  • clutch
  • transfer case
  • battery box and housing
  • transmission (duh)
  • exhaust between cat and down-pipe
  • starter solenoid
  • gusset and middle cross-member

Thank you for reading, I hope someone can help. ;)

Im thinking its the bolt at the back of the transmission that bolts the tranny to the block. Since you have one left and i know is the 12mm one.
I agree with the other guys, that is definately the bolt that goes from the block to the tranny on the back side of the motor.

that is definitly the bolt that goes through the block into the tranny on the backside below the starter. You should put that in its verry important if you like the car to shift.:hellyeah:

Oh yeah! It can get soo bad it can cause damage to your TC if you have a heavy clutch like me. Clutch will push the trans away from the block, pulling the TC into the flywheel and cause a really loud grinding noise.
:nono:

Driver Side Axle. Not Passenger Side. It goes through the block into the transmission. Unless its an Automatic. Which it just broke inside the transmission on my car! I guess I'm screwed and wont have a running car.
