my $600 gs-t

I got this gs-t for $600.i put a stock td-05 back on it the guy had a 16g on it(major shaft play)so anyways i put it all back together and have one hose left it comes off the bottom ic pipe then it goes into a y and up to a plastic piece. now for the bad when running it wont go past 2500 rpm.........any ideas guys/girls

When my intercooler coupler busted in wouldn't rev up...have you done a BLT and make sure everything is tightened down?

Check your TPS as well.ouse

If it is off or miss align, it will do the same thing.

Don't forget Boost Leak Test as mention (Gysgt Guy).

just did all that. would the wastegate have anything to do with it

did you do a compression test? what year car?

check your exhaust system possible collapsed flex pipe. Easy enough to just unbolt the the down pipe see if it revs

its a 95 gs-t

FYI 2g's do not come stock with tdo5 turbo's..They come stock with a t25..

Tdo4 and tdo5's came stock on 1g's..

2.it came off a 97 tsi
3.the other turbo that was on it was a td-05

I just posted that so you knew the difference..

Also for reference..Tdo5 comes in different trims, 14b, and 16g..The 14g has alot of fins on the compressor wheel, and the 16g has 2 fins 6 times.. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/313105-16g-serial-numbers.html This has 14b and all 16g's serial numbers..


Also Find the shift key please before you get a warning from a mod..

Probably a 14b why don't you rebuild that 16g?
Check your timing with a advanced timing light.

and on the stock lower ic pipe that connects to the j-pipe there is a nipple with a rubber hose and it goes into a y and also goes to a plastic piece that goes into the bottom of the intake pipe.....trying to find out were the third hose goes

Probably a 14b why don't you rebuild that 16g?

That j-pipe nipple is where you hook up your mbc to your wastegate.

#1 is not a mitsubishi serial number

#2 is a 14b..

Check the link I posted..It will comfirm what I just said..

If you can get a pic of the "16g" compressor cover uploaded..I wouldn't be suprized if that was an ebay 16g..

EDIt: I just checked ebay, and couldn't find the picture I wanted..On the "16g" is there a plate where the wastegate bolts to?

it was the same as the td-05 and it it was probally a ebay special it came in a tall brown box that said 16g on the side

check my last post after I edited it..But if there is a plate by the Wg and it says evo3 turbocharger..It's an ebay special..I just blew up one of these myself..Ran strong untill it died, But it died, and fast..

Stick with the 14b..You should be able to run safely 14psi..

The funny thing is that "16g" is the same as the one i have now....and i think you are right as far as the year of what it came off of it as a metal line that goes up to the side of the block like the first gens do
