Mounting battery in the trunk to pass tech

I am going to mount my battery in the trunk and having some trouble. I want it to pass tech at the tracks. I already have the kill switch installed. I am having a hard time mounting the box to the frame. I cant mount it to the passenger side of the trunk because its full of bondo from a accident before I got the car. I was going to mound it on the strut cross member like the picture below. However I want to retain my seats and would like to avoid cutting. Also my spare tire well is trash.

In the pics below where I am pointing the rod, can I mount it there and still pass tech? Plus somewhere where threading the rod wouldn't be to hard. Im not much of a welder to make stuff. I would like to see examples of what you other guys did.

Very typical for these Eclipses and Talons. I literally didn't have one when I bought the car, it was just a bug gaping hole that rusted out.

And my car was never up North?!

Yes the car was always in PA. Kept out since I got it back in 2009. Then it was kept in a garage in 2014. It used to be a daily up untill 2014 when I started doing more stuff to it.

Still doesn't help my battery mounting issue.

I can't mount mine there either..........NOS bottle is in the way...
The AWD cars have the silly "volcano" in the middle that sure screws things up, except for a spare tire, but who needs those????

Right . I haven't had a spare tire in there since I got the car. Plus with my brembos, wouldn't do me any good.
