Hey guys and gals this is my first post in this forum I have owned many 2G eclipse and I recently just got done replacing the clutch and throw out bearing in the one in question now . I have this "noise" kinda like a grinding type whirring noise , it does this In neutral with clutch pedal not even being touched and also will do it in gear with pedal not touched ( such as normal driving ) I replaced the master cylinder and got the pressure back into my clutch and bled it at the slave cylinder could air in the lines be causing this ??? I replaced with the Sachs oem replacement with their tob . Also tranny could be not sure a little low on fluid wasn't even ground where it filled it up could that cause it ? I used atf+4 . Please reply fellow members promptly I really need some help thanks!

well ive got the tranny back out and inspected the throw out bearing from the sachs clutch kit I put in. everything seems to be fine ? the throwout bearing the inside turns but it will not spin under its own power takes minimal pressure not sure how easy it should spin. Also i didnt change the pilot bearing on the crank i hear most people change it during a clutch change maybe thats what it is idk? clutch assembly looks good too me and case is clean. the atf 4 will work in our trannys call the dealer and ask. I would rather find a used tranny than tear unto the insides if it comes to that . im just not sure anymore the oem tob is 80 dollars .

I think I have found my culprit . after hours of searching and listening to youtube videos I believe its the Input Shaft bearing . I dont know how hard it is to change one but from what it looks like thats my problem and It sesms to be a better and cheaper option to just buy a good used transmission if i can find one. but i would be willing to try to replace the bearing which ill proble attempt and then if i cant figure out how to put the trans back together ill just buy another one used. THE RULE OF THUMB If the noise happens when you're off the clutch, the TOB is not engaged. Therefore, it's the input shaft bearing.
