I'm new to the whole DSM scene, always loved the cars but don't know much about what to do to them to get more power out of her. Recently bought an eclipse with a 2nd gen 6 bolt 4g63t talon motor in it. It already has the following, Brian Crowler 272 cams, 16g turbo, punsihment racing intercooler kit, greddy blow off, megan racing down pipe, 3 inch straight pipe, safc 2 air fuel controller, 550cc injectors, Act 2600 clutch and resurfaced flywheel, and egr block off. What else can I do fairly cheap for some more power? Thanks in advanced, Jordan.

Better tuning solution - DSMLink
Better intake manifold - Evo I/II/III
Better exhaust manifold - FP Race
Better o2 housing - lots of choices
More boost
Bigger turbo - unlimited choices

Do ALL maintenance first. If you have oil leaks fix em. Get a good timing belt like a gates, greddy, hks. its worth the price. then decide how far you wanna take it.

Do you know how much power you even have right now? I would start there, and as above mentioned to basic maintainence and find out if your car is tuned for power, with those mods and a safc, I think our missing out a lot.

The guy before me had it at a garage and tuned it. I was told its Probably around 280-300 by one of my friends that know a lot about them. There's an STI in town that I want to beat thats my main goal really.

What color is your car I'm in Everett/breezewood a couple times a month...
Did he give you any receipts with the car?
If you ever need any help I'm only 35 minutes away and I have a whole garage full of parts, if you ever need anything.

Did he say anything about a fuel pump? Wont yield many horses but will be needed down the line.
I seen a maintenance was mentioned, may want to do a Boost leak test and maybe even a compression test for a piece of mind.

This will help you get familiar with the car. You must become one with the car LOL

Yeah there's a 225 fuel pump on it. I plan on doing maintenance on it over the weekend. I was just looking for some easy stuff to pick a couple horses up here and there.

first start off by getting dsm link and then save your pennys and buy a bunch of stuff at one time so you only need to retune 1 time

Hahahahaha!!! ROFL.. Tune one time.. Shit I cant even count how many times I retuned my car just over the course of the spring/summer/fall just due to weather changing. But I know where you were going with what you were saying.

However OP, when all maintenance is caught up what I would do would be 1) Rewire your fuel pump, if it already hasnt been done. This enables you to actually use the pump to its potential. 2) buy ECMlink. Not only do will you get more out out of the fuel system but there are so many other things you'd be able to keep track of! 3) Injectors. 550s will work for a little while but if you plan to grow in the future they just wont cut it.

how big should I go? 800?

how big should I go? 800?

With the SAFC leave your injectors as-is and just save up for ECMlink. With link the sky is the limit on injectors; it's generally recommended to go as big as you can afford.

Depending on future goals i'd say 1250s at minimum since they'd allow you to grow into several turbo setups. If your future plans include E85 and/or a monster turbo then you'll need much bigger injectors.

how big should I go? 800?

Start at 1000cc and go untill your wallet screams in pain.

With dsm/ECMlink, you will be fine to tune them out.

Like before stated

1) Do basic maintenance, fluids, timing ect

2) Link and WB

3) fuel injectors

Won't add any power but you'll ease the load of your drivetrain, handle better and lower your ET with some weight reduction.
