Ok well i recently purchased a 95 eclipse gst and i dont know what route to take to get to my goal. My goal is to be making more or less 300hp. I want to defently get a bigger turbo but what size would be reasonable? What kind of supporting mods do i defently need when i install a bigger turbo?

Search, use the Tech guides.
Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners
Start with doing the intake and exhaust and just follow the upgrade path.

big 16g evo3 turbo will be just fine that what im running on my talon with alot of other supporting mods im running 252 wheel hp safly tuned by AMS Performance right now all i need to do to run 300 is dsm link and they say the 16g can handle 380hp:talon:

i bougt all name brand stuff including turbo it costed me about 6 grand in performance parts but i made one mistake it was i didnt buy dsm link you will be able to get more power by buying dsm link with your mods and you can eliminate some of the parts i bought list of my parts are jmf intake manifold big 16g evo 3 turbo bushar racing coil on plug pack hks dhi ignition box ets intercooler rated 450 hp aeromotive fuel rail aeramotive fuel preassure regulator 650 cc injectors act 2600 clutch kit 255lph walbaro fuel pump full 3" apexi exahust 02 house and a turbo manifole apexi neo there some other stuff but i all ways forget to much stuff i feel it aint cheap to make hp but i bet there are people who have made good hp ratingd on a cheap budget:talon:

well i am on a very slim budget for now cause i am only 15 haha. but like should i get a new fmic if i am going to be running a 16g?

Lets take a Poll how many times is this question asked a day.

my answer 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000+this one.

If your question is: Do i NEED a FMIC to run a 16g, then no

But if your question is: SHOULD i get a FMIC, then yes. If you have the extra cash. You don't need anything big. 300HP is a pretty conservative goal and it'll just make it that much easier to get there.

yeah bro its nice to see some young teens on here like myself. if you get a evo 16g you have to get the supporting mods. everyone always told me this but i never knew what te supportin mods where. so if i were you i would get a wally fuel pump, rewire fuel pump, some larger injectors, exhaust would def help, and a data logger with a safc. with this setup you could tune it and be making around the horsepower you want.

We all know this question has been answered 100K,K,K,K,K times already. But here's the thing, when I first started with DSM's (before there was even dirt I think, LOL) everyone said (RRE, Bushur, Sean Glazer, Etc.) do all the supporting mod's and gave me a list. That was all fine and dandy but I had no idea where to get things in what order or even why. So here's my little lecture to you sir (directed to the OP):

Get a full 3" exhaust right off the bat (don't bother with anything less)
Get a good intake (not the $20 from ebay) I recommend a FP or Dejon Tool
Get a Walbro 255 HP pump
Get a FPR setup with gauge
Get a set of 650cc injectors (I like to use FIC's)
Use either DSMLink and the MAFT setup or a 2g Airmeter / SAFC combo (+ MMCD to log)
Get a wideband (I use the Innovative XD16)
Get a real boost gauge (Autometer, & Stewart Warner come to mind)
Get a MBC (Halman Pro, Joe P, whatever floats your boat, NO EBAY JUNK)
Get a reliable clutch (ACT 2100 or one in which you like)
Get a 16g turbo variant (big or evo III would be the best)
Get a good set of plugs and wires (I like NGK bpr7es gaped @ 0.028")

and most important of all MAKE SURE ALL THE TIMING & B.S. BELTS ARE CHANGED!

This of course is just my 2 cents

guess everyone has the same set up for 300hp, i have just about all the above mods and am very satisfied

Ya i have some websites like slowboyracing.com, maperformance.com, extreme psi, stmdsm.com and thats it. About how much is the dsmlink? What does it do?

nevermind i found out what it is for. But i saw some cars on youtube that they have a backfire from the dsmlink or something. Why does that happen?

Thats antilag its for launch control.

I payed 535 for mine. its the best thing other than a stand alone system.

damn 500 bucks!? Thats alot, i was thinking that they would cost more in the 200+/- area.......

Do you think that a used one will work, or would i just be better off saving up for a new one?

well you have to have an EPROM ecu first. with a 95 you might have one or look on ebay or classifieds. I would buy new so you get a username for the DSMlink forums and go that way.
