Well, here is my situation. I have my 6-bolt block as well as all the internals ( eagle h-beam rods, arias pistons, crank, etc.) I also have my head with hks springs and hks 272's. Also have 1mm OS valves for it. The only thing is, I wont have the money to finish the build if i do all the machine work on the head for the OS valves. ( got screwed out of my taxes due to court fines.)

so my question is do you think I should go with the new valves and get the machine work done for them and wait god knows how long to save up the money to finish?

or do you think i should wait on the valves and do them at a later date so that i can get my car running?

this is my dd and i am more than capable of pulling the head to do the valves later as i have pulled the head a few times already and done my timing more times then i can count.
thanks for the help:D

Personally I would go ahead and get the car up and running. You would def regret doing the machine work only to run into financial problem after problem and never getting to finish your project. A dust covered DSM is an unhappy DSM.

Get the car up and running. The longer you have to wait to finish it the more you will find a reason to spend the money your saving on something else.

im happy to hear ppl with the same opinion on this matter. i honestly didnt think that the 1mm valves would make much of a diffrence at this point anyway seeing as im running stock turbo and fuel injection. all i have at this point is internals.

another quick question. i am about to take my block and head to the shop but they dont have a torque plate for my motor. with all the information on this sight about torque plates i still cant decide if its really important but id rather be on the safe side. question is if i had them just drill out an old head would that work just as good as a torque plate?

well, I pulled my head today and found out that i have 2 exhaust valves that are bent. one of them you cant really tell looking into the exhaust holes it looks like it seals but the one right next to it there is a tiny gap. my machine work just went from a little over 300 to over 700. i tried asking him if i could just put 2 new guides in and 2 exhaust valves from my other head and call it good but he was rambling on and on about dumb shit so im gonna see if i can get ahold of another machine shop to do that for me. this will be just a temporary fix as i need to be mobile again.
