ok ive almost got the engine, out, but its lunch break, i somehow cannot lodge the tranny from the block, is the transfer case bolted to the block AND the transmission? i can swear i have all the bellhousing bolt out, and i just cant seem to get the tranny apart from the block. i need some help fast, because lunch time is wearing thing :p

the tcase doesnt bolt to the block at all but i dont think you can slip the trans off with it on because it kind of wraps under the oil pan. even it you could it would definately make it harder. its only 5 or 6 bolts so i would just pull it off.

i dont know if it was or not, but i just removed the transfew case completely , it was just in the way LOL, it ended up to be the transmission mount, i figured i could leave it in there, but i needed to remove it to pry the transmission from the engine, and i got it out :thumb: the dead cylinder, well it wasnt what i expected, heres some pictures

looks like one of my pistons I pulled out a while back. NICE:thumb:

Looks to me you detionated the shit out of it as well as running lean. That ones a keeper!!!!

Haha! Maybe all of us from Florida are going out to Colorado to get our cars. Being that I flew out there to pick mine up and drove it back :D And with all the problems I was having, I barely made it back. Had to play my own personal "junk yard wars."

When did you start this project and how was I not informed? Either way that looks sweet, I cant wait to see it. Are you working on it at the tranny shop, Ill stop by after work tomorrow around 3:30

OMG, you are the kind of mis tuning! LOL look at that pistons thats is some meltage. Ive seen exhaust valves shatter from detonation, pistons start to burn offaluminum flakes from detonation but never a full weld job like that guy.

I want to add my own experience with mls hg. I use a mitsu 4 layer, ive used them on a few engines. As far as the block goes, obviously you want it very clean without pitting, obviously your gonna want to check it with a straight edge for warpage. Factory limit is .002 warpage, you have to check from multiple angles, other then that if it meets up to par no need to resurface, period. The head is a different story, its cast aluminum and its not the first in line to get coolant, its prone to warpage for alot of reasons, i would get a nice resurface job done for one of these steal headgaskets. I ran my head around by hand on a machiniest lapping stone, 3' x 3' with lapping compound instead of resurfacing, and it still seals perfectly at 25psi plus. I see people telling me they didnt resurface the block and then they had 0psi in a cylinder and had to do it all over again. Just because they have poorly rebuilt the engine they are most likely poorly jumping to conclusions as to why it didnt work. Its about making proper checks and verifying good and not good parts, not throwing money and being a parinoid over achiever

he just pulled his old engine out of the gsx(and found out why number 4 cylinder was so dead:cry: ), the engine that he rebuilt over the past few weeks is going into the car sometime this week

going there tommorrow, to put my new clutch in ( its an ebay special , gripforce stage 3, 6 puck LOL )

and should have it in and maybe the engine bolted, in that way all i have to do is plug everytning in and bolt all the miscellanious shit on then i have to break her in :notgood:

SHE'S AAALLLIIIIIIVEEE!! and had a few minor problems, loose clamps, hoses, a few water leaks, a few tuning problems (to hell with the maft) i accually had to go 2 clicks lean on mid and wot and take 15% out on the afc to make it run good, checked for leaks, had a few, fixed them checked for 25 psi and the bov leaks then (im only running 10psi) 4 miles on the engine total, and its been redlined, fully boosted , launched, banged gears so hard the windshield wipers came on, and you can thank my dad for that =) he breaks it he buys it LOL so im fine with it. runs ok now, taking her out tonight to the local car show with open o2 housing OH by the way could this mess with the computer, with the o2 not reading right? i will post pictures later maybe a vid link if my friend can do it. well time to go out .
