I just wanted to acknowlege Jack's Transmissions on here.

I live in Colorado and had a Jack's Tranmission in my 1G and I've always had nothing but respect for Jack and his guys. Recently I replaced a leaky clutch master cylinder with a parts store special, 6 weeks later...pedal pressure goes away again. I thought it was the slave, replaced that but still had the same problem. Maybe air in the lines still I thought, another night of bleeding the system and no better. Thought it could have been the clutch fork pivot ball or fork itself and was preparing myself to drop the trans to check that (this is my daily driver). I called a local mechanic that I've used in a pinch before who used to be the Eagle mechanic at the local Chrysler dealer, he told me it sounded like air in the line still or a bad master cylinder. I wasn't sold and ended up calling Jack's, Tim at their shop listened to my symptoms and told me that it was definately a hydraulic system issue and likely an internal leak in the master cylinder. He took the time to talk through the problem with me and led to the conclusion that the cheap-o master cylinder I installed was likely to blame. The point to this story is that Jack's Transmissions customer service was (and always has been) excellent even before I'm considering buying anything, you bet I'll be a customer of theirs for as long as I have a DSM. Their staff is extreemly knowledgable and helpful.

I'll be taking the parts store master back (under warranty) for a refund.

I couldn't agree more, they've always been willing to help out even if they know they won't be selling you anything.

For feedback, I'd post your information Here as well. :) This goes into their reviews/feedback section of the site, specifically for Jacks Transmissions.

Aww. I completely forgot about that little hiccup. Ah well, good to see some positive feedback for those guys.

Perhaps this is something you could pitch at the staff as they are always trying to better the community. Might be able to have one of them approve it for you.

Unfortunately I can't post there because I'm a 'probationary member' and have been for 2-1/2 years...

You have the time in, thats for sure!

18 more helpful tech posts, and a nights sleep, and you will be a "Proven Member"

I am sure there is knowlage you have that will help some of the new guys. :thumb:

I do have the time in, just not on the forums. I got my first DSM in '01 and learned how to wrench thanks to that car - electric blue 92 talon, I was very fond of that car and still have a thing for electric blue 1gb talons!

I'll get around to the requisite number of tech posts in-between my fulltime job and home life with my lovely wife and our three kids, it just may take me longer than others. I do love my DSM but it's a ways down on the list :thumb:

Anyway - really do appreciate Jack's Transmissions, they've been great to me over the years! I also apreciate this forum and thanks to the moderators for keeping it great!

Which jacks tranny did you get and how smooth is the shifting

My 1g had what Jack would consider his stage 1.0 rebuild, he built it for me before he had a shop, he was working out of his basement. That transmission shifted great till the day I sold the car!

I don't currently have one of Jack's transmissions in my car, my 2g came with a Shep Transmission and it's still working well.

You aren't an exception to the rule. Locked.
