Here in Brazil, DSM parts are too bad.

And I saw people in facebook groups commenting on 4g63 project sharing. Some people use the JAC J6 2.0 crankshaft. it's 7 bolts.

ok, knowing this, does anyone know if the bearings used are the same? and the jet oil? Could any of these parts of the JAC J6 2.0 project avoid crankWalk?


I'm asking because my 7 bolts has already started to give indications of running the crank

Some Chinese cars had 4g series engine until recently. I don't know about the car but if the car has a 4g63 7 bolt then yes probably you can use the crankshaft.

The main bearings and oil jets are not depending on the crank, it depends on the block.

Try not to start the engine anymore if the crank is walking already. You may finish your block, too. If the crankwalk is just at the beginning, the block may be still reusable.
 
Hiroshi is correct. If you save it NOW, the block and possibly the crank can be saved. What wears out first when the crank walks is the main bearing thrust surface (FOLLOWED by the crank thrust surface). I have always wondered if running oil with ZDDP in it would help it not wear, since zinc dialkyldithiophosphate is good for high load surfaces (like what I have to use on my Chevy engines with Flat Tappet camshafts). Food for thought and good advice from @DSMPT !

Yep. Brad Penn oil has been used in my builds in the past, and back when royal purple had a lot of ZDDP in it, I used that too with amazing results. The Rotella T5 diesel oil is great too.


Short answer to your post is yeah. Works great for the 4G63.
 
That should be posted for Crankwalk issues. Since I build all kinds of motors, that just happened to come across my mind :thumb:
I have 18 bottles of ZZDP additive and 6 Five qt bottles of Castrol "Classic" 20w50 that has high zinc content from Amazon. Glad to have it in stock!

The zinc doesn't hurt anything that I know of and never has hurt anything I built.
I run Lucas Break In Oil on all of my motors to be safe. 100 miles on the breakin and 400 more on the next oil change of the same oil, then I run whatever oil I want. Breakin oil is very important in my hobby of motor building to save a failure during that period.

I will have to reassemble my transmission with the new exedy clutch. and next year I'll pull him over to think about what I do.

If I change the Block to 6 bolts or rebuild my 7 bolts
My car does not leak oil and runs very well. sad to open the engine because of this.


but out of curiosity the crank of this JAC assembler is the same as the 7 bolts. but the block has some differences in support connectors etc. I really wanted to dissect one of these to compare and analyze the possible sharing of parts. PHOTO

About Zinc I've never seen it here in Brazil for sale, but it's worth a try for the next construction.

That’s an Evo4-9 4G63T. The crank, rods, pistons, valves, lifters, and springs/retainers can be used on the DSM 7 bolt 4G63 with okay results. The block itself isn’t useable in a dsm as it has a different bellhousing bolt pattern, and the oil pan is different as well. The head TECHNICALLY can be bolted up to a dsm 4G63 but it’s a massive pain, and requires custom stuff to do. So not really useable for the dsm 4G63.
