So I just got my 99’ Spyder GST running today after its been sitting for 2 years. While driving it home I noticed that it will stall at any moment if it is not given constant gas, it also has a very weird idle and is up and down between 1.5k rpm- 0. It won’t idle on its own for more than 5 seconds and it also won’t rev past 2.5k rpm in any gear, it will only rev in neutral or with clutch fully depressed.

Does anyone know what might be causing this issue, I have a fuel pressure solenoid code and wastegate solenoid code as well.

Hey, does anyone know why with my Eclipse when I start the car it settles at 1k rpm within 30 seconds and then when driving the vehicle the longer I drive the higher my idle gets.

Perhaps related to whatever you did to fix the earlier issues? What did you do?

Tell us about any mods, because a stock car only idles that high during initial warmup and then drops to about 850 when things are working correctly. Since you couldn't rev over 2.5k before let us know what you did to fix that and make sure that your throttle cable isn't too tight.

Typically its throttle cable too tight. If car idles above 1500 its usually that because electrically speaking its not possible for the car to idle above 1500 UNLESS either the throttle isn't really closed or the idle position switch isn't working. You can push the theottle with your hand and make sure its shut. If it's not adjust the cable.

The fix for the previous problems was emptying all the old gas and cleaning my fuel tank, replacing the fuel filter, and putting a new main feed line on my fuel pump, as for mods it’s mainly stock except for intake and axle back exhaust. The car has a boost leak and this idle issue.
