When I sit at idle around 800 rpms there seems to be a weird sound coming from my intake area ( sounds like its arcing). As I rev up the motor is goes away. I pinched the pcv line while the noise was being made and it quit. Is it the PCV or somthing else ?

Or just suck and blow through it' sorry best way to describe it. they work like a one way valve. I have the same ticking. I think it is ether the hydraulic lifters at low rpm or the pvc valve ball rattling around inside.

Buy OEM PCV, the spring might be weak or the ball inside might be worn which would make it rattle, also the aftermarket PCV are junk, I would not loose the PCV valve as it removes crankcase pressure while not in boost. It will make your engine happier.
